Get online to Cambridge Information!

Anne Campbell MP launched the Cambridge Online City project on Monday 29 January at Cambridge Central Library.

Online City brings free access to the Internet at a variety of public places in Cambridge as well as access to information about Cambridge from its very own Web site and users will be able to use the full resources of the Internet.

Online City has published a set of pages on the World Wide Web and placed public Internet access terminals at a number of sites around Cambridge.

The five free access points in public places give members of the public the opportunity to use the information available within the Web pages as well as the other resources of the Internet.

Cambridge Online City has involved the participation of County and City Councils, many voluntary groups and sponsorship from local business. Cambridge Cable have provided the telephone lines free of charge and Unipalm-Pipex have provided software.
