Pathway: Library Online Home

Email

There are literally hundreds of free email sites available on the Web. To find a free email provider go to the ‘Free Email Address Directory’. This site lists over 500 free email providers - the choice is yours - but please be aware that internet access through the ACT Library Service is limited to those sites which do not use Java.

Once you have selected your email provider it is simply a case of filling out the registration form as directed and then following the instructions to send your messages.

One of the most popular email providers is Hotmail. Simply type hotmail or www.hotmail.com in the location line. When the signon screen comes up, click on ‘Sign up here’, read the terms and conditions, click on ‘I accept’ and fill out the registration form. You can use Hotmail immediately. Click on Help Center to learn how to send messages, create folders, save addresses etc. Do not forget to log out when you have finished. This will stop anyone else using your email, either to read your mail or send messages in your name.
