Iomega Zip 250 en Philips CD-RW 400 review

Bij ZDNet hebben ze een review(tje) gebakken van Iomega's nieuwe 250Mb Zip drive. Er staat weinig zinnige info :

Zip 250 drives are backwards-compatible, meaning they can read standard 100MB Zip disks. But if you send a Zip 250 disk to someone who uses a 100MB Zip drive, you're both out of luck. In order to avoid this scenario, Zip 250 owners can either call ahead to see which drive their colleagues have (a major nuisance) or resign themselves to using 100MB media (which all but defeats the point of buying a 250MB drive).

Verder hebben ze ook nog een review van de Philips CD-RW 400 CD-rewriter:

The Philips's CD-RW 400 delivers respectable read-write performance and a sturdy 650MB capacity. It transferred 63MB of data to disk in 2 minutes, 20 seconds. That's much faster than Microsolution's external drive, but considerably slower than the two Zips. Though somewhat slow at writing data, the CD-RW is extremely compatible: CD-R media can be read by the more than 200 million CD-ROM drives in operation; CD-RW drives work on all 24x or faster CD-ROM drives. If you're looking for an easy install, however, look elsewhere. The CD-RW utilizes an IDE connection, and unless you're familiar with setting up master-slave devices on an IDE controller, you may want to call a professional installer.
