AWM in .338 Lapua Magnum
AWM in .338 Lapua Magnum

The AWM rifle is based on the AW with minimal changes to accommodate magnum length cartridges.  It has a detachable box magazine which takes 5 rounds.  The normal cartridges for this rifle are .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum.

A muzzle brake is fitted to reduce recoil and jump while acting as a base for an optional front iron sight.

A fluted, stainless steel barrel is supplied with the AWM.  Barrels in caliber .300 Win Mag AWM are 660mm (26") long and the length of the .338 Lap Mag is 686mm (27"), both using 1 in 11 twist barrels.  Research has found that both produce best velocity and precision for the caliber without the penalties of weight and length.
