Teacher's Guides are available online:
TRIUMPH OF LIFE
This
Teacher's Guide accompanies the six-part series TRIUMPH
OF LIFE. These programs tell the story of evolution
-- how our planet came to be filled with the diversity
around us, and how the ancient struggle for life is
still being fought today. Lessons in the guide discuss
how survival depends on having the resources to meet
life's challenges. Each program is available for purchase
on video.
To purchase the tapes, please contact PBS Video by
calling (800) PLAY PBS.

THERE'S NO PLACE
LIKE HOME
This
Teacher's Guide has been developed for use with six NATURE programs: OBSESSION
WITH ORCHIDS, EARTH NAVIGATORS, GREAT WHITE BEAR, THE BODY CHANGERS, SPRINGS ETERNAL:
FLORIDA'S FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, and THE SECRET WORLD OF SHARKS AND RAYS. These programs
show the many ways animals and plants have adapted to ecosystems around the world,
from the snow-and-ice covered Arctic to the coral reefs of the Caribbean. Students
are encouraged to observe animals in a variety of habitats, noting their behavior
and drawing conclusions. Each program is available for purchase on video.
To purchase any of the tapes except GREAT WHITE BEAR,
please contact WNET Video Distribution at (800) 336-1917,
or write to WNET Video Distribution, P.O. Box 2284,
South Burlington, VT 05407. GREAT WHITE BEAR is available

THE WILD to their students; the series is available
for purchase on video.

OF THE NATURALIST
This
Teacher's Guide is a companion piece to five NATURE
programs: ECHO OF THE ELEPHANTS; JANE GOODALL'S WILD
CHIMPANZEES; GHOST BEAR; BORN TO RUN; and WARTS AND
ALL. Each of these programs looks at the way a very
young animal learns to live in the world around it,
inviting students to think of themselves as naturalists.
With the exception of WARTS AND ALL, each of these
programs is available for purchase on video.
To purchase the tapes, please contact WNET Video
Distribution at (800) 336-1917, or write to WNET Video
