Googlewhacking

Deu no HotBits:

Deu no disinformation
"The basic idea is that black holes give rise to new regions of space and time, and that at these events, which resemble our Big Bang, the laws of physics can change. When worked out in detail, this idea leads to a scientific theory which makes predictions which are testable. The basic prediction is that no small change in the masses of the elementary particles or the strengths of the forces would lead to a world with more black holes than ours. So far, although a number of astronomers have tried to find counterexamples, this prediction has held up
...
What for me is most provocative is the possibility that, for this to work, we will have to extend the Darwinian idea that the structure of a system must be formed from within by natural processes of self-organization—to the properties of space and time themselves."

A Dream of Flatland

Rudy Rucker mandando bem:
In the night I had a memorable dream. I was flying beside a huge vertical plane with something like a painting on it. The flat round image showed a full-size cross section of planet — glowing red in the center, and with mountains and shallow seas on its rind. I flew towards the disk's top border, driven by an urgent feeling that there was something I had to do.

cubo SOMA

Piet Hein manda avisar:
"It is a beautiful freak of nature that the seven simplest irregular combinations of cubes can form a cube again. Variety growing out of unity returns to unity. It is the world's smallest philosophical system."

Death to the demoness Allegra Geller!
Postado por caio em Sunday January 13 2002 @ 06:02AM CST |
Allegra Geller: So how does it feel?
Ted Pikul: What?
Allegra Geller: Your real life. The one you came back for.
Ted Pikul: It feels completely unreal.
Allegra Geller: You're stuck now, aren't ya? You want to go back to the Chinese restaurant because there's nothing happening here. We're safe. It's boring.
Ted Pikul: It's worse than that. I'm not sure... I'm not sure here, where we are, is real at all. This feels like a game to me. And you, you're beginning to feel a bit like a game character.
