Welcome to Puhuri Glacier.  I'm Yasmine Galenorn, author, poet, and artist. I'm also a shamanic Witch who has been practicing the Craft since 1980. This site is grounded in my own personal experience, my traditions, and my magical writings.

Once, long ago and far away--well, maybe not that long ago--I had a site called DarkMoon Rising.  I created that site shortly after the release of my first book, with the help of Netscape Composer and my husband back in early 1998. DMR has gone the way of all tales--into history. I loved DarkMoon Rising (and later on, as it was called, Foxglove Glade, a name I still love), during the time I created it and ran it--from early in 1998 until early 2003, it graced my site with a lot of information about Paganism and magic and Witchcraft and my books.  But something happened.  I grew tired of offering generalized information that you can pick up on so many Pagan sites.  I grew bored with DMR and I realized that, as tidy and fun and informative as the site had been, it no longer met MY needs as an author, a priestess and witch, and an artist.

So I dismantled it, unsure as to whether I would ever have another magical site. I stopped spelling magic with a "k" and began spelling it "magic" again. I eliminated the generalized info because I do not practice Wicca. I began to think about what represents me, my magic, my ever evolving path.

So, if you are looking for general magical/Wiccan information, this is not the place to find it. The information I present here is directly from my personal life, and often doesn't coincide with traditional Wiccan teachings, which don't meet my spiritual needs. And no, I do not accept acolytes, what I have to teach can be found in my books.

The updates to this site will be seasonal in nature.

OH!  Another tidbit: I don't have access to a lot of the old writings about Finnish history and if I did, I probably couldn't read them so I'm not the best person to ask about the subject.  I do want to learn Finnish at some point, but for now, what little I know, I've scrounged for and what is on this site is accurate to the best of my knowledge.  The magical information is based on both study and experience.

I don't guarantee all of the facts in terms of spelling, etc., so please don't cite me as an expert or consider me a scholar of Finnish myth and legend, though I'm working on it!

You can find out more about my books--both fiction and nonfiction on my primary site.

Bright Blessings,
Yasmine Galenorn

Copyright Information
1998-2003

ALL articles, rituals, spells and most graphics on this site ARE copyrighted and you may NOT reproduce them in any form of print; nor may you reproduce ANY excerpts of them without explicit permission from the Web Mistress.   I do not mind if you copy them into your personal book of shadows, as long as you put a note where you found it and that you keep it just that: personal and not re-printed in any public form.  This ban on reprinting especially includes E-MAIL.

You are welcome to try them--that's why they are here, but you are not given permission to reprint them on your site, in your e-mail discussion lists, in your group coven's BOS, etc., etc.

I WILL contact your ISP if I find out you have done so.  I HAVE done so before.  This disclaimer serves as fair warning so if you don't respect my copyright and get caught, you better not start whining.

The easiest way to pass on information is to provide a link to the articles here on my site.  If you want, you may write and ask for permission to reprint.  I sometimes say yes, sometimes no.  It depends on the circumstances, how much you are looking to copy and your attitude.  I never give permission to reprint through e-mail--this is the quickest and most deadly way to erode an author's copyright and since my words are my livelihood, I simply always say "no".

Also: any and all magic is done at your own risk.  You try it, you take the responsibility for what does or doesn't happen.  Just because something works for me doesn't mean it will work for you and vise versa.  Try a number of different things, and you will find the right way for you.
