Three analytical essays based on the reading material on topics to be assigned are required of each student. These position papers must be double spaced with textual references typed on a separate endnote page.  The deadlines for these writing assignments are listed on the syllabus.  No late work will be accepted except for special circumstances or with a note from your class dean.  You must make arrangements with me to make up an assignment. See some comments on writing history papers and the History Department's Research and Style Guide on The History Homepage.
