The
Mountain Goats' 2005 tour is expanding -- new
dates announced!
January
29, 2005
Both Zopilote
Machine and Nothing for Juice reissues
by the Mountain Goats are now available for preordering.
We anticipate having finished copies to ship out sometime
in March, with an official release date in late March
or sometime in April. There is a preorder special for
both of these CDs for $20 postage paid (U.S. customers
only), too, which will be good through the release
dates of both. See the respective release pages for Zopilote
Machine and Nothing
for Juice for
those ever-important Paypal shopping cart buttons.
The vinyl of Zopilote Machine will
not be as insanely limited as we previously thought
due to demand; we're pressing 1000 copies on vinyl,
so we should have these for sale for at least a few
months after release. Also, some of you have inquired
about bonus tracks on these releases, and we regret
to say that neither release will contain any bonus
tracks, unreleased songs, etc., despite what we have
said before about the possibility of this. Sorry! These
will be straight reissues of the Ajax versions, with
some minor typographical tweaks.
We've
also put up 3
MP3 downloads from each release for your
listening pleasure. Enjoy.

The
Mountain Goats will be making a short West Coast trip
in February, with two
dates announced in Los Angeles
and Seattle so far.

Happy
New Year from 3 Beads of Sweat. We hope your 2004 was peaceful,
sane, and chock full of good music, good TV, etc. I can't
complain too much about how the year turned out, I guess
(except for the obvious political debacle in this country
in early November). The Red Sox won the World Series,
so that leaves my White Sox and those pathetic "Cubbies"
standing high and dry as the 2 most tragically inept
franchises in all of baseball -- good times, good times.
But anyway, that Yankees/Red Sox ALCS will rank up there
as one of my favorite postseason series evvvar, not necessarily
because I'm a huge Red Sox fan but more of a Yankee hater
who loves good beisbol.
MOUNTAIN
GOATS EARLY RECORDINGS TO BE REISSUED
2005
looks to be a good year to return to releasing records,
and we'll be starting off with two long-promised reissues
of some early Mountain Goats albums, 1994's Zopilote
Machine (their first full-length release not
on the cassette format) and 1996's Nothing for
Juice, which features collaborations with Graeme
Jefferies from the Cakekitchen/This Kind of Punishment
and was one of the last MG albums featuring the primary
lineup of John Darnielle and Rachel Ware.
Zopilote will be released on limited-edition
vinyl for the first time, while NFJ will
be CD-only since it was released on vinyl by our old
label Ajax way back when. We'll have some MP3s for your
listening pleasure and preordering information in a few
weeks.
We
also have another release planned for 2005 by a band
whose name should ring a bell among the Ajax faithful
-- stay tuned.

MOOPS
MUSIC -- WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?
We
have finally launched our new sister site Moops
Music. Moops will serve as the distribution arm
for 3 Beads of Sweat's label releases as well as Ajax
Records' remaining backstock, and will also act as
a distributor for other labels that we hope to bring
into the fold over the next several months. Check out
the nifty little logo drawn up by Chicago's own Ivan
Brunetti...pretty sweet, eh?
If
you are looking for the mailorder stuff previously
displayed here at 3bos.com, the Moops site will have
everything up for sale shortly if not already. You,
of course, can still purchase 3BOS label stuff here
-- Moops will have all this stuff, too. But from now
on, anything not on 3 Beads of Sweat will no longer
be offered here, and that includes releases by the
Mountain Goats, Art of Fighting, etc. |

T-SHIRTS!
We
finally got off our duff and made up a batch of 3 Beads of
Sweat t-shirts featuring the Daniel Clowes-drawn "sweaty
guy" logo. Check out our Merchandise
page for the full
array (well, 3 different colors, in any case) -- we got
yer white, yer light blue, and yer ice gray colors to choose
from, in sizes M, L and XL. Woof.
These
are also available at moopsmusic.com, along with 5 different
varieties of Moops Music shirts. Yes, we went nuts on t-shirts. |
