That year Remus discovers something he wishes he hadn't. It destroys his concentration, keeps him awake long nights, ruins his appetite and causes his attention to be easily lost in imagination. Sirius thinks he's coming down with something, Peter thinks he's lost the best Charms tutor and is doomed forever, and James just thinks he's finally lost it.

It's none of those things.

It's the way Sirius looks while taking a test, head bent, brow furrowed, quill brushing against the corner of his lips. It's the line of Sirius' neck, the smooth curve of his cheek.

Oh, Merlin. It's Sirius.
