Call for Papers: "Robert Penn Warren's Poetry." Panel sponsored by the
Robert Penn Warren Circle to be held at the American Literature
Association Convention, Long Beach, CA (May 30-June 2, 2002)

Deadline for paper proposals: December 15, 2001

With the publication of The Collected Poems of Robert Penn Warren in
1998 and The Selected Poems of Robert Penn Warren in 2000 (both edited
by John Burt), we have a convenient opportunity to re-consider Warren's
career as a poet, as well as new opportunities for teaching his poetry
in greater depth. Any approach related to Warren's poetry is welcome
for this panel: papers may focus on individual poems and volumes, may
take a comparative approach with other poets, may discuss strategies for
teaching Warren's poetry, or may consider broader issues such as
Warren's reputation, legacy, and influence.
