MARK RETURNS FOR SOUTH AFRICA
Due to prior commitments, including touring with Prodigy, Rob Holliday will, unfortunately, not be able to appear with The Mission on their upcoming July shows in South Africa. Mark Gemini Thwaite, the Mission’s guitarist from 1992 until 2001, and currently Peter Murphy’s touring guitarist, has very kindly and graciously agreed to return to play with the band for these two Johannesburg shows. Long term plans for the band remain unaffected however and the September/October ‘Lighting The Candles’ tour is going ahead as scheduled. |

THANKS TO THE RED MEN
I just wanna say thanks to all of you that posted good wishes/congratulations for either Liverpool or for my birthday over the last couple of days. Cheers! Well, I got my wish but not without a few skipped heartbeats....... Suffice to say that every hurt, every disappointment, every insult, every defeat, every unjust decision, every false new dawn, year in and year out, that I've suffered and endured as a Liverpool fan was worth it for the exquisite feeling at the end of the match on Wednesday night. Words will never describe it. As someone once said 'If I have to explain then you'll never understand'. YNWA, Wayne |

YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE
I know that most of you who read these postings on MWIS are really only interested in news about The Mission but this is my website, after all, and I am able, if I feel so inclined, to comment about anything if the fancy takes me. So, please, indulge me. Football. Now I know that a fair proportion of you don't give a damn about the 'beautiful game' but on Thursday it's my birthday and the perfect gift for me would be for Liverpool to beat AC Milan in Istanbul on Wednesday night in the Champion's league final. I've been a Liverpool supporter for 40 years now, since the 1965 FA cup final, in fact, when we beat Leeds 2-1. And during that time Liverpool have won countless trophies and graced the game with some of the best teams and players ever to have played football. But I cannot remember ever being as excited, or nervous, about a game as much as I am about this year's Champion's League final. Win or lose, I am proud of the Red men, proud that they are once again playing at the highest level of club football. I would like to use this website as a forum to make public my best wishes to the team, and all the supporters that have the good fortune to being going to the game in Istanbul. Bring us home the cup...... You'll never walk alone..... Cheers, Wayne |

ROB TOURING WITH PRODIGY
Rob is currently touring with The Prodigy as live guitarist. A full list of tour dates is available from the Prodigy website. MWIS caught up with Rob before he joined the band on tour and he asked to pass this message on "I am really looking forward to playing with Prodigy - their tour shouldn't clash with the Mission dates, so no need to worry!" Last weekend The Prodigy played at Pinkpop. Having a quick scour of various sites, we've found a downloadable video of Rob and The Prodigy in action from that show. Note - this file is a bittorrent file so you will need the BT Client software to download .... >Download BT Proxy File - this isn't the actual file - you must have the BitTorrent software installed to download <. |
