 WAYNE GET'S PLASTERED.....
A few things to let you know.
Firstly, Wayne currently has his right arm in plaster after breaking his hand in an accident after the Cologne show a few weeks ago.
After the incident Wayne continued the tour with just heavy bandaging and when he returned home to Brazil a few days ago and found time to visit the doctor his hand was x-rayed and he was diagnosed as having broken bones in his hand and was immediately sent to the hospital to have the injury plastered. He will remain plastered for the next 7 days.
In other news, we have received a link to a review of the recent Mission Edinburgh show. http://membres.lycos.fr/magicbox/Festivals.php3#1472
Also, we can confirm that NFD (ex members of  Fields of The Nephilim, Sensorium, Nefilim) will be supporting The Mission at The Waterfront in Norwich on Tuesday 3rd August 2004. Website: www.nfd.web
And lastly, but not least, Wayne has written and recorded a new song that is included on a forthcoming album from the singer of Japanese band 'Buck-Tick'. Wayne was approached and asked to write and record the music with the vocals & lyrics being contributed by Sakurai Atsushi, Buck-Tick's vocalist. The song is called 'Sacrifice' and will be released as a single in Japan on Wayne's birthday, May 26th. The album follows in June. For a preview, go to : http://sakurai-atsushi.com/
OK, that's it for now but watch this space for info about shows in South Africa and Italy later this summer.

 MISSION DVD ON E-BAY
It is has been brought to my attention (thanks, Petra) that there is a Mission DVD for sale on e-bay filmed at our London Forum show last October. This is a bootleg and we know nothing about this. We may well have given this individual, whoever it is and I have my suspicions, permission to film the show for personal use ONLY. Not for commercial purposes. We do have a policy to allow the use of personal hand held camera's at all our shows, along with hand held walkman's etc. But again, only for personal use, not commercial. We have no idea what the quality is like and in no way approve of this release. If you buy it you do so at your own risk.
And I have to add that if this trend continues, the bootlegging of our shows for commercial purposes, we will have to rescind the long held policy of allowing our shows to be filmed and recorded.
Cheers,
Wayne.

 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE & YEAR REVIEW
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy christmas and a wild new year, wherever you may be. And I'd like to thank you for your continued support for myself AND The Mission. It's not always been easy to keep going in light of some of the resistance I have encountered over the last year or so but when occassions like The Mission's Forum show happen, then it does make it all worthwhile. Thankyou.
I look forward to a new year that promises more band activity and new recordings. Isn't it wonderful how eacn new year begins with such optimism and anticipation! It's great that I have found again what I consider now to be a 'stable' line-up for The Mission. I'd like to thank Rob, Rich, & Steve for re-storing my faith in musician's that are a pleasure to work with, who are team players, who are reliable, and are not prone to tantrum''s (even you, Rob!). And a crew who are young, open minded, eager to learn, and even more eager to enjoy themselves. And, they like the music! I look forward to working with you all again.
And, also, at this moment I would like to thank Paul Morgan for doing such a wonderful job with this website. He does it because, like you, he is a long time fan of the band and I know his faith has been severely tested also over the last year or so but, God bless him, he has stuck with me despite those dissenting voices and, again, I thank Paul from the bottom of my heart.
OK, that's it from me for the time being.......don't drink too much sherry........
And think of me enduring the Brazilian sunshine whilst I should be in England in the cold, wet, and dark this christmas time.......
Cheers,
Wayne.

2003 REVIEW
As it’s almost Christmas again I thought it was a perfect time to reflect on the year just ending. A lot of these choices below are not specific to this year, it’s just that I maybe ‘found’ them again this year.......

Highlight of the year: Surrounding myself with a new found team of people that I like, and that like me, and we all like doing what we’re doing - together. No jaded cynicism.
Low point of the year: Bitchy and snidey ‘so called’ fans, & jaded & cynical ex employees.
Fave Hussey solo gig: Bristol Fleece & Firkin, and M’era Luna
Fave Mission gig: Barcelona Bikini
Fave gig: Echo & The Bunnymen in Sao Paulo
Fave book: Under the Skin - Michael Faber
Fave film: Eyes Wide Shut
Fave city: Bologna
Fave album: Electric Warrior - T.Rex
Fave bands: The Beatles, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, T.Rex, The Cure, Sigur Roos
Fave voices: Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Fiona Apple, Bjork, Thom Yorke, David Bowie
Fave musicians: Will Sergeant, Jonny Greenwood, Tom Verlaine, Jimmy Page.
Fave ‘Fight Club’ member: Rob Holliday

 VESSEL
At long last we can announce that the name for the Votiva-Hussey project will be ‘VESSEL’. Although we received numerous entries to the competition that we ran a while ago for you to name the project, none of the entries we received were deemed right. So, even though it doesn’t fit the criterion that we set for the competition we feel that ‘Vessel’ is a good and the right name for this project. We have chosen 3 runners-up however and they will be contacted in due course.

HUSSEY ON RADIO IN SAO PAULO
Wayne Hussey yesterday, 4th Dec., made a surprise and impromptu live performance on air at the 18 year anniversary celebrations for Brazil's major alternative radio station 89fm (www.89fm.com/br). Wayne played an acoustic version of The Mission's biggest ever hit in Brazil - 'Butterfly On A Wheel' - along with a version of 'Evangeline' that segued into the Cure's 'A Night Like This.' During the interview Wayne told of plans to record and release a new Mission album next year and also that he has now made Brazil his home.
Wayne was also seen backstage with Mac & Will at the Echo & The Bunnymen show in Sao Paulo a week or so ago and there are rumours that Wayne asked Will to play guitar on his proposed solo album next year.....Only a rumour though.......

HUSSEY GET'S INTO BED WITH SPV....AGAIN
After prolonged negotiations, Wayne Hussey has signed a new licensing deal with SPV (Germany) for the territory of Europe, including the UK. The new deal was completed and signed during The Mission’s recent European ‘Pilgrimage’ tour, and marks a renewal of the successful relationship that both parties enjoyed, in Germany at least, with the release of the ‘Aura’ album in 2001.
The new deal gives Wayne license and the freedom to record both with The Mission, and solo, and also to be involved with other projects like the forthcoming ‘Votiva/Hussey’ project. (Expect more news very soon)
There are also talks under way with SPV about releasing a live Mission DVD that will also include a retrospective on the band.
Negotiations are currently ongoing with other labels in other territories around the globe for future Mission & Hussey projects. More news when the deals are inked.

 MWIS EXCLUSIVE VIDEO
In a converted farmhouse, somewhere nestled in the Somerset countryside, The Mission are putting the finishing touches to their rehearsals before embarking on their "Pilgrimage" tour, covering several countries throughout Europe.

"It’s good to be back on the road again", says Wayne, "as much as I loved doing the solo tours, it’s good to be working with the band, making a big old noise!" he enthuses.

The Mission line-up for the tour includes Rob Halliday (guitar), Ritchie Vernon (bass) and due to Scott Garrett having to pull out through a recurring wrist injury, Steve Spring is filling his sizable shoes.

Steve is an old colleague of Rob’s, during his "Curve" days; "When I got the call from Rob asking if I’d like to tour with The Mission, I jumped at the chance!" smiles Steve.

Watching the band rehearse you can tell there’s a real sense of camaraderie amongst them. Rob and Ritchie have toured as part of the band for some time now- something apparent through the tight sets they play. "I really enjoy playing in The Mission.", says Ritchie, "Working with Wayne and Rob is great - the fans have been terrific too!" Rob has a similar attitude; "Being part of The Mission on tour is great fun. I really enjoyed the last tour and this one promises to be just as good!"

The first show is in Berlin at K17 on the 13th October. "We’ve got some tunes that haven’t had an airing for a while and of course some old favourites, says Wayne,"Being on stage playing as a four-piece is a real buzz - I think that’s reflected in the reaction from our audiences"

And what’s planned after the tour? "Well I’m still writing new material and have several projects on the go at the moment - the animated film"Mercenario" is on-going and I will be in Paris sometime soon to finish that off, plus I’m working with Voltiva Lux which is turning out some really interesting work too - I’m really pleased with how both projects have gone"

So there’s a new Mission album planned? "Sure, I’d love to do another Mission album!" he grins, "At the moment nothing is concrete but that’s the plan. We’re also still working on the idea of releasing a DVD - something that started off as the solo show being filmed and has turned into something much bigger. We want it to be something special, so it’ll take a bit longer to make than originally planned- I’ve even been writing music specifically for it!"

Paul visited the band during their rehersals and has put together two versions of a Windows Media video of the band [ 4mb Stream ] [ 13mb Stream ], which also includes an exclusive demo track called "Lighting The Candles", which has been specifically written for the planned DVD.

See you on the tour! Keep the Faith!

11 OCT 2003

Congratulations also to our very good friends, Gary & Gemma Numan on the arrival of their baby daughter, Raven Elfin, a couple of weeks ago. Mother and baby are doing fine! So is Dad.

7 OCT 2003
 SCOTTY ILL...
It is with great disappointment that we have to announce that Scott Garrett will not, after all, be playing with The Mission on their upcoming European tour. We received an email from Scott 2 days before rehearsals were due to commence in the UK informing us that there is illness in his family and that Scott has to stay in the US to take care of that situation, and also that Scott himself has a re-occurrence of the wrist ailment that prevented him from playing with the band on their US tour of September 2002. We wish Scott and his family a speedy recovery.
With such short notice Scott's posistion has been filled for this tour by Steve Spring, a friend of Rob Holliday's from his 'Curve' days.

VOTIVA LUX TO SUPPORT THE MISSION
We are very pleased to announce that Wayne Hussey's favourite all time Italian band 'Votiva Lux' will be supporting The Mission at Gaswerk, Winterthur on 21st October and at Universal Dog in Lahr on the 22nd.

 COLLABORATION COMPETITION
We have told you before about the collaboration between Wayne Hussey and Votiva Lux. They are working on an album together that should be released sometime in 2004. Well, this project is still nameless.....and that's where you come in! We want you to come up with a name for this project. We have the songs and we have the sounds but we don't have the RIGHT name!
So we have decided to run a special competition on both the Mission and Votiva websites, where you have the chance to name this new project/band! The rules are very simple:
1) The name should be composed of one or more words but must not contain parts of Votiva/Wayne/Mission names (so, no names like Waynelux, or Votivission etc., thank you very much!)
2) The name must have a .com domain available (you can check this yourself at www.domain.org)
3) Entires must be sent by 20th September to: nameit@cycpromotions.com

The winner will win:
* A signed CD of each album/single that the new band will release
* A guest pass that will be valid at every show that the new band will play
* An exclusive acoustic 4 track CD with personal dedication and homemade sleeve created by Wayne & Votiva. And that will be the ONLY copy of that CD in existance.

In the meantime the 'diary' of the project is now online at:
www.votivalux.com/wayne-votiva/
The 'diary' will feature regular previews of the rehearsals and recordings, exclusive pictures, audio previews, and much more. The 'diary' will be written and updated personally by Wayne and the Votiva boys as the project unfolds.
We recommend you bookmark this page!

THE MISSION VS. ZONA MUSIC (PORTUGAL)
The Mission Vs. Zona Music (Portugal)
It is my unfortunate duty to have to report to you a grave case of injustice, dishonour, and deceit perpetrated by the record label Zona Music based in Lisbon, Portugal.
It is a long and sordid story but I will attempt to keep it as brief as possible.
As we, The Mission, were nearing the completion of the recording of our album, ‘Aura’, I was approached, no, make that poached, by Suzy Loreno of the promotion department at Zona Music. She professed to being a long time Mission fan and persuaded both myself and Charlie Eyre, who had signed the band to his Playground Recordings in the UK, that Zona Music would be the perfect home for the Mission in Portugal. An agreement was reached between Playground and Zona and signed by both parties with a suitable sum of money agreed upon as an advance.
But the money didn’t arrive as scheduled, with Zona making the excuse that there was a document they were waiting for from the Portuguese tax authorities before they could release the funds. With the European release date for ‘Aura’ fast approaching, Zona pleaded with us to supply the parts (the album master tapes and album sleeve art work) to them so that they could meet the same release date as the rest of Europe and not lose domestic sales to imports. Again, with the promise that the agreed advances were on their way, we agreed to supply the parts in good faith.
Please bear in mind that all this was happening in October / November 2001.
‘Aura’ was released in Portugal in November 2001 to generally good reviews and, I’m told, reasonably healthy sales. I personally did a whole lot of promotion in Portugal, along with the band playing shows in Lisbon and Oporto, to help promote the album.
We are now in July 2003, and we still have yet to receive the agreed advances for the album. Despite Charlie Eyre’s best efforts, and mine since I became involved in this situation personally in February of this year, we have received not one penny from Zona.
Charlie no longer works in the music business so it has rested upon my shoulders to try and resolve this situation. I have written to Suzy Loreno on numerous occasions, sometimes eliciting a reply and sometimes not. I have written to Suzy’s bosses, Fernando Antunes, Fernando Tome, Jose Borges, and Carla Silva, not once receiving even an acknowledgment, and I gave them a deadline to reply which was this Friday past (4/7/03) which came and went without a word from Zona.
Zona have completely reneged on our agreement and they have sold our album without handing over one penny of any of the moneys generated from those sales, or even the agreed advances. Zona, and their employees, have been deceitful, dishonest, and dishonourable in their dealings with us.
And whilst this conflict is not solely about the money (there is a principle involved too) and the sum of money involved may not seem like a lot to some whilst to others it may seem like a fortune, the reality is that to Zona it’s not gonna break the bank but to me it can make the difference between being able to record a new Mission album or not. And that, in effect, means that they are restricting my right and my ability to work as a musician.
Suzy & her bosses at Zona Music, next time they throw an unpaid invoice into the trash bin in their shiny little office, would do very well to remember that the only reason record companies exist, and they have a job at all, is because of the musicians, like me, that make the music that they sell.
Anyway, I am writing this to implore any of you who have professional or business dealings with Zona Music to think twice about it and to exercise caution in your dealings with them.
If you are a Portuguese Mission fan and, by some chance, you haven’t yet bought yourself a copy of ‘Aura’, don’t buy the Zona Music release. Buy it mail order from SPV in Germany, or XiiiBis in France, or even better, wait until The Mission are in Portugal in October and buy it direct from us. If you are thinking of buying another artist’s release on Zona, look at alternatives like buying it on import or via mail order from the artist’s own web site.
If you are a new band/artist and Zona Music are interested in releasing your records, remember the lesson that I have so cruelly learned, and find another label to release your records for you. There are ALWAYS other labels.
If you work in the media, then please, by any means possible, spread the word about Zona Music’s dishonest business dealings and warn others to be very wary when dealing with them.
Anything you can personally do to help avoid this situation happening again to someone else would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and your attention.
Yours sincerely,
Wayne Hussey (The Mission).

Wayne was in Bologna, Italy, recently for a few days working with Votiva Lux on their projected album together (we told you about it a few months ago!), expected to be ready fro release sometime early next year. The 'project', still nameless, worked on about 12 new songs and Wayne has said " It's great, it's really liberating for me, and I think the music is wonderful and very evocative and inspiring. Mind you, it's not really like The Mission or Votiva Lux, it's hard to describe but I do think it will be rewarding for people who approach it with an open mind. We're even thinking of touring next year with this project if all goes well."
Wayne will also be doing some additional filming of his upcoming California shows, to compliment the show that was filmed and recorded in Worcester recently, for future DVD/CD release.
In other news, Rob Holliday, The Mission's guitarist and lead singer of Sulpher, is currently out on tour playing bass with 'Flint', the new band formed and fronted by Keith Flint, the lead singer with Prodigy.

Finally, we have the first part of an exclusive interview with Wayne before the Worcester solo show last month - available in both Windows Media and Real Media (each 3mb) or a higher quality Windows Media format (11mb). The second part will follow a little while later (and includes questions put forward from the MWIS forum).

LONDON BORDERLINE NOT POSTPONED! AND COMPETITION EXTENDED!
It's been reported on the message board of this site and also on the site of a UK based ticket agency that Wayne Hussey's London Borderline show scheduled for Fri. 2nd May has been postponed. We can confirm that this rumour is absolutely NOT true. We can confirm that the show IS going ahead and advance ticket sales are very healthy with the promoter predicting another sell out!
OK, we've had a fantastic response to the competition for tickets to see Wayne on this tour and have received far more correct answers than we had anticipated. To enable us to be able to pick more winners we have made arrangements with the promoters of the tour so that we can give 2 tickets away per show. So now there will be a winner for EACH show. Winners will be chosen on the morning of Monday 28th April so there is still time to enter if you haven't already. The winners will contacted early next week via email.

As I always try and emphasize, nothing is confirmed until I confirm it and I certainly haven't confirmed any Mission shows just yet. But rest assured, when I do you will hear about it here FIRST.

 ANOTHER US AURA REVIEW
Richard Van Camp from Redwire Magazine has reviewed AurA. You can check out his review, as well as all others related to AurA here.

In the meantime, here are some of the highlights of Richard's review:

""Aura" is The Mission's best work in years. Disciples of The Mish who adored "God’s Own Medicine" and "Children" will be relieved that the Mission are back with more love in their hearts than ever.

"AurA" is a celebration of love, lust and faith ... It’s obvious to me that the Mission put everything they had into this album, and I hope you all check it out ... Gothaholic review: 5 out of 5 with absolute admiration for a band that’s inspired me more than they will ever know. "

 AurA REVIEW
Although AurA has been out for some time now, Delirium Magazine has recently posted their review.

Highlights of the review:

"I can honestly say with few exceptions, "The Mish" has made a successful landing from their apparent return trip from the heavens....mixes a hopeful urging at every corner, inspired by a deep sense of satisfaction with the rosy glow on full display, in an erotic, evocative return as the love starved and conquering hero patterned after some of the most exciting music they've ever made.

... Caught somewhere between shadow and light there now exists Aura, an exuding and encompassing presence of .... star quality and temperance...serenity crashing together like overeager stars in the quiet night sky and the powerful yet peaceful feeling that we are not still alone in the vastness of space."

 ESKIMO TO WED....
It's been brought to my attention, courtesy of Ramone (thanks for letting me know), that one of the very original Eskimo's, the band of gypsies, tramps & thieves (they used to 'thieve' our rider) that used to follow The Mission around in the early days is getting wed. Stoko, for it is he, has managed to persuade some foolish young lass to marry him. Well, my best congratulations to Stoko, must confess I never thought it would happen, and my commiserations (only joking) to his betrothed....No, I wish them both all the best....Be good to each other......
Actually, last time I saw Stoko was walking down the street in London a few years ago now carrying a portfolio.....That in iteslf was highly amusing, but the reprobate had actually become a qualified architect, if memory serves......This is the guy that I spent countless and endless drunken nights with back in the 80's.......God bless you, Stoko (and you, Ramone)...the memories are sweet.......Best of luck, boy....
Wayne.

 BACK TO THE FUTURE....
After a long and mostly fruitful association, I have severed ties our Record Company.
Anyway, we are still aiming to make available for sale at my forthcoming solo shows the remaining Playground vinyl stock, after which it will be pressed no more. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. However, the CD’s will remain available from Playground Records and through this website until further notice.
As far as future label’s and recording plans etc are concerned I can tell you that I am negotiating with a new label and hope to be able to confirm details of an agreement in the not-too-distant future.
I am very excited by this prospect and am looking forward to having the freedom and opportunity of being involved in numerous and various projects, The Mission included, and working with people that are supportive, flexible, and understanding of me and my ambitions. The future looks like a good place to go, so see you there.
Wayne.

 NEW DISEASE & FAVE FILMS
I have been hearing some very good things, mostly from Mark (just joking, a little), about New Disease. This is the band formed by Mark Gemini Thwaite, ex Mission guitarist, and Lee, the singer from Underdogg, the band that supported the Mission on our European Tour of 2000. For further details go to their website.
My fave films of 2002:
1. Lord of the Rings - (both of them)
2. Mulholland Drive
3. Unfaithful

Finally, as many of you will already know, the Message board is still out of service. We are still in dialogue with our hosting company to resolve the outage. Appologies to everyone - we're just as annoyed as you...

 MORE NEWS
One of the highlights for me of the last year was having the opportunity to perform at 2 of my solo Italian shows with one of my current favourite bands, Votiva Lux. As I've told you before, their album "Solaris" is one of my favorite albums of 2002. It is available from my good friend Lorenzo Bedini's Cyc label in Italy. For further info on Votiva Lux contact Cyc directly by email, or visit the websites Cyc Promotions or Votiva Lux

Well anyway, the good news, for me at least, is that Votiva Lux and I are planning to record an album together over the summer. I will be contributing lyrics and vocals to pieces of music written and recorded by the band. Again, this is a project that I am very excited by, and represents for me an opportunity to try something new and fresh away from the strictures and perimeters of The Mission. I'll let you know further details later.

I also wanted to tell you about a film I watched last night. It’s called ‘The Day After’ and was made in 1983. I can’t remember ever seeing this film before, because I believe that if I had then some of it’s images would’ve stayed with me. It’s a shocking film about the threat of nuclear war. It’s a film that seems all the more pertinent and relevant today with the imminent confrontation that seems about to happen in the Middle East. Make no mistake, if this thing does kick off then the world will be changed forever.

If you want a reminder of how devastating a nuclear war could and would be, then I recommend that you go to your local video store and rent this film if you can. It’s not a technically fantastic film and there are no actors in this film that have ever won an Oscar but it’s message is concise and clear, and it will certainly make you reflect on the horror that a nuclear war will bring.

Look, I don’t usually like to mix music with politics and I certainly don’t like the idea of using this website as a forum for me, or anyone else for that matter, to preach or to rant and rave, but the fact is that this film made an impact on me and I just wanted to share that with you.  WAYNE TO WRITE FOR FILM
One of the projects that I am currently involved in is that I am writing and recording a new song for the end credits of an animation film that is being directed by my good friend, David Iglesias.

David studied traditional animation in Madrid and has worked on several tv animated series (including "Wind in the Willows", "Fantomcat", & "Delfy and Friends") and in animated shortfilms ("Vampire Show" & "Torpedo" amongst his credits). He has worked in Madrid, London, and Mexico City.

"Mercenario" is David's first feature film and is a CGI feature film rendered with a traditional animation look and is a production of Animaciones Imposibles for Tornasol Films. The film should be on general release in the autumn/fall of this year. The song will be recorded in Paris sometime in the spring. It will also feature on the commercial release of the film soundtrack album and possibly on the next Mission album. Working with film is a long held ambition of mine and the opportunity to do this is the realization of yet another dream for me. The next step will be for me to score a complete film, which again is a long cherished ambition of mine. And I get to spend some time in Paris, which is one of my favourite cities. What more could I ask for?

 SOLO SHOWS
It's been brought to my attention that some of the solo shows booked for May may well be being advertised as Mission shows. This is a fabrication. They are solo Hussey shows not Mission shows contrary to anything you may see or hear otherwise.

 UPDATE FROM WAYNE
One new year resolution that I made was to write to you more often but, God, it's February already and this is the first time that you have heard from me this year so obviously I have failed miserably with that one.......OK, enough of that nonsense and onto other nonsense....

Some solo shows I have confirmed for later this year.....Hope you can make it, they will be the last for a while......I've got other things I want to do.......And I'll let you know about that over the next few weeks.......

May
1st: Crewe Limelight
2nd: London Borderline
3rd: Aldershot West End Centre
11th: Sheffield Boardwalk
15th: Wolverhampton Robin 2
16th: Derby Flowerpot
17th: Worcester Marrs Bar
22nd: Bristol Fleece
30th: Winchester Tower Arts Centre
31st: Burnley Mechanics
June
6th: Leipzig Wave Gothik Festival

The London Borderline show is already on sale from usual outlets. I am also planning to record and film that show with view to maybe releasing a future DVD/CD.

There may well be one or two more shows added to this schedule but these WILL be the last solo shows for quite some time. I believe it's time for me to concentrate on other projects. Playing the solo shows has been a rewarding experience, on the whole, and provided some of the real highlights of last year for me, and I'd like to thank those of you who have been supportive of me in this endeavour. Those of you who haven't, can go fuck yourselves.

I love the flexibility and the spontaneity that those shows can sometimes afford, and I welcomed the pportunity to perform songs that I have never before been able to perform with The Mission. And I love the nakedness of it all. Playing songs like "Tower of Strength" & "Evangeline" without a band made me realize that, yes, there are some pretty damn fine songs that I"ve written over the years. Playing solo was never designed to replace playing with The Mission, it's just something different I wanted to do for fun.

Anyway, I like to take this opportunity to send you belated best wishes for 2003......may it be a better year for all of us than 2002 and may we see the year out without a world war kicking off.......

Wayne.

 US AURA REVIEW
Robert Bushinsky from Boston's "Metronome" magazine has written a review of AurA, a copy of which is available here. In the meantime, here's an excerpt:

"Aura" is undoubtedly the Mission's finest album in over a decade. Combining the classic elements of their first three albums, (the albums that die-hard Mission fans consider the ones that really matter), "Aura" is the product of a band that honed its chops by being on tour for over a year. In fact, alternating recording sessions and tour dates was their modus operandi. This method shows as the band is tighter than ever, the songs are extremely well written, and Hussey's voice is more limber than it's ever been...."Aura" recaptures the feel and energy of the Mission's first phase, 1985-1990...the masterpiece that is the Mission U.K.'s "Aura." A pure work of art and nothing less than a classic.

 AURA US REVIEW
Thanks to everyone who offered their help on the merch stands - as always it is greatly appreciated!

Billboard in the US have given AurA their pearls of wisdom in the form a review - here is what they had to say:
"Aura marks a resurgence of sorts for veteran quasi goth-rock lads the Mission U.K. Get past the fact that at times, this sounds like a U2 tribute disc comprised of original songs-with the to-be-expected Cure and Zep lashings cobbled in as well-and you'll recognize this as the band's best disc since its glory days of the mid-80s/early 90s.
Running the gamut from trippy to poppy to hard'n'heavy, the 14 tracks (one hidden) each have something to offer. Founder and singer Wayne Husseys lyrics range from arcane to lame, but his best moments are worth the price of admission. The single "Evangeline" is a high point with its pop-rock sonics and S&M; storyline, while "Lay Your Hands on Me" brings on a foreboding vibe and Messianic imagery. After a few listens, the derivativeness will fade away, and Aura may just become your new guilty pleasure.-AZ"

For all those of you who registered your orders between SEPTEMBER 4 and SEPTEMBER 9... your copies will be sent out on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For all those who have been asking us... the remaining individually numbered copies of the exclusive 16 track version of the album ARE and will continue to be available to order EXCLUSIVELY through the online store via WorldPay or by cheque (drawn on a UK Bank payable in pounds sterling) made out to Playground Recordings and sent via the PO Box address (please include legible details of your name, address, e-mail, phone etc)... until we have sold out!!!

The related organisation and the mail out itself really have been a massive logistical undertaking and Paula and James @ MWIS deserve a major vote of thanks from the rest of us at MWIS for their combined stirling efforts and the enormous time they have devoted selflessly to the cause this past week.

Enjoy the album and keep the faith!

PS We will definitely have official news of European release dates for the 12 track version early next week but the first or second week in October is still looking probable.

 SOLO SHOWS/AURAL DELIGHT
The following changes have been made to the European Wayne Hussey solo shows:

19.10. Herford Kick
26.10. Köln Live Music Hall

Also a final reminder for all Mish fans who wish to receive the exclusive limited edition 16 track version of AuraL DelighT on or around the actual release date of September 16 in the UK & Europe (and a few days later outside Europe).

As previously advised, 11.00pm GMT (or BST if you want to be pendantic!) Monday 10th Sept is the cut off point for all online orders/payments to have been registered via WorldPay on the MWIS store. Postal payments should have arrived at the MWIS PO Box address by tomorrow as previously advised.

For those of you whose orders have been received and registered in time, we aim to post out your copies of AuraL DelighT at the end of this week. There will be a slight delay while we process orders not received and registered by tomorrow... so please be patient with us - this will be done as quickly as possible.

For those of you who have emailed MWIS asking how you can pay if you don't have a credit card, you need to send a cheque to the MWIS UK PO box, payable to "Playground Recordings Ltd" drawn on a UK Bank and must be in GBPStirling - unfortunately we cannot accept any other payment method...

 AURAL DELIGHT UPDATE
For all those wanting their copy of the exclusive 16 track version of AuraL DelighT to arrive on their door step either on the day of release (September 16) or later that week...

We can confirm that Monday September 9 at 11.00pm is the cut off time for all online orders/payments via WorldPay to have been registered. Postal payments must also arrive at the MWIS PO Box address by Monday September 9.

Although everything is completely on schedule, due to the enormous demand for the album we at MWIS already have our hands well and truly full making sure we are able to fulfill all initial orders received by that date so that we then have sufficient time to complete the packing and transport them all to the post office! However, we can confirm that all orders/payments registered or received within the appropriate period will be sent out at the same time late next week! Please allow a few extra days for the album to reach countries in Europe.

Some copies of the 12 track version of AuraL DelighT are likely to appear in shops around the first week in October both in the UK and Europe. We will confirm full details right here as soon as we are informed.

Although AurA brought you twelve delicious Mission tracks late last year, the band also recorded a number of additional tracks/versions at the same time which did not make the album. Some of these have subsequently appeared as "B-sides", some have been performed by the band during 'AurA TourA 2002' and Wayne has also recorded some acoustic versions which he has been performing at his recent solo shows.

The track listing for "AURAL DELIGHT" is as follows :

1. AMELIA

3. SPIDER & THE FLY (IN THE OINTMENT)
4. SORRY...
5. ANYONE BUT YOU

15. HAPPY (acoustic)
16. BURLESQUE (acoustic)

Due to the exclusivity and limited availability of AuraL DelighT, we are taking advanced orders so you can get your hands on the album as soon as it is released! Each order will be dealt with very much on a first come first served basis but provided any payment sent has cleared by September 16, it is our aim that a copy of the album will be sent in sufficient time to arrive on the actual day of release.

Any cheque payments (ie non MWIS / WorldPay) should be made out to Playground Recordings for the correct amount (inc p&p) and sent c/o:-

MWIS, PO Box 26, ATHERTON M46 9LY, UK. For those of you who want to pay via the web, click here.

Please include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address (if applicable) legibly and allow 5 working days for the cheque to clear.

Don't forget AuraL DelighT (16 track version) is a VERY limited release - it is recommended you order as soon as possible as it will not be released commercially in the shops.  SOLO ACOUSTIC SHOWS
Even before the events of the last few weeks, I had decided to go out and play some solo acoustic shows over the summer. One of the promises I made to myself when we reformed The Mission in 1999, was that this time it would be fun. Well, since the release of 'Aura', there has been a lot of business to take care of that has had nothing to do with making music, and quite frankly, working as The Mission over the last few months has not been fun. That's why I decided to do something that would be. Hence the solo acoustic idea.

This was never intended to replace my activities with The Mission, but merely afford me a distraction. The shows will be very loose and informal and will feature Mission songs, various cover versions, and hopefully some new songs. There won't be a set list as such, it will be me taking requests. These are the confirmed shows so far:

15th - 21st July: Italy - venues to be confirmed
August:
Thu 1st: Crewe Limelight
Thu 8th: London Borderline
Fri 9th: Stourbridge Rock Cafe
Sat 10th: Leicester Charlotte
Sun 11th: Sheffield Boardwalk
Mon 12th: Chester Alexanders
Fri 16th: Farnham (venue tbc)
Sat 17th: York Fibbers
Sun 18th: Ashton-Under-Lyne Witchwood
Fri 23rd: Derby (venue tbc)
Sat 24th: Milton Keynes Stables (tbc)
Thu 29th: Plymouth Cooperage

That's it for the moment, but rest assured there will be more dates and countries added.
Love, Wayne.

 A NOTE FROM WAYNE
During the course of the last week or so there has been a lot of speculation, conjecture, and accusation surrounding recent events in South America concerning The Mission. I would like to take this opportunity to try and clarify the situation for you. We, AS A BAND, arrived in Sao Paulo just two weeks ago and fully intended to complete the South American tour, AS A BAND. We played 4 very enjoyable shows in Brazil including one which was recorded and filmed for possible future release. On Wednesday night, with us due to leave for Cordova, Argentina, very early the next morning, Craig announced that he wanted to leave the band and return home to England, for personal reasons.

The rest of the traveling party held a late night meeting in my hotel room, and being unable to replace Craig at such short notice, we decided on a course of action that we felt would limit the damage, both to us and the promoters, and a course of action that would also limit the disappointment of fans eagerly awaiting the shows in Argentina, Chile, and Peru.

It was decided that I would go on to Argentina alone, thereby already saving the promoters the expense of the additional airfares and hotel accommodation, and meet them at the airport and inform them of the situation and give them a choice. The choice was this: We could cancel the shows or I could play them alone with an acoustic guitar. Neither choice was ideal but we felt it was preferable to no one turning up at all. The idea of playing alone was terrifying to me and I must admit that there was a large part of me that was hoping that the promoters would decide to cancel. I had no time to prepare for this either emotionally or practically but under the circumstances I felt I had to at least give the promoters the choice.

I arrived in Cordova and was met by the promoters and told them the bad news. Of course they were unhappy but they were grateful that I had at least showed up. They called the local promoters in Chile & Peru and it was decided that the shows should go ahead. They also came back with the unique idea of providing me with a local band each night that were at least a little familiar with some Mission songs that, after I finished my solo set, would perform with me. Again, not an ideal solution but under the circumstances I felt I had to do everything possible to try and salvage what was a pretty desperate situation. We then agreed to reduce the fees we were receiving by half if the promoters agreed to make it known before the shows that these were, indeed, Wayne Hussey solo shows and not The Mission. This was going to be achieved by getting the news to local TV, radio and press, and by posting an announcement at the door of the venue informing people what was going on. The fans that had already bought tickets for the shows would then be given the option of a refund or coming to the show. This was the agreement. I was assured every night before the doors opened that the audience were aware of the situation and were being given that choice. Obviously, after reading the postings on the guest book over the last couple of days, the agreement I had with the promoters was breached and they reneged on their promise. All I can do is apologize on behalf of myself and the band for this unfortunate situation.

Please understand that in no way did I personally try to deceive anyone and that the addition of local musicians to perform with me was never intended to appear that said musicians were in fact The Mission. If this was a deceit then it was perpetrated by the promoters and again, I apologise for this misunderstanding.

From my perspective on stage it seemed to me that most people did know and were happy enough and enjoyed the shows for what they were, and although obviously disappointed that the it wasn’t the whole band, were on the whole very understanding and supportive, and I am so thankful for that. It made a very trying experience at least enjoyable. Thank you.

I’d also like to take this opprtunity to thank the 4 bands that played with me too.I know it wasn’t easy for them either and they all worked hard to make a bad situation at least a little more tolerable. Again, thankyou.

As for the future of the band, well, I’ve always contended that we don’t have any long term plans and that hasn’t changed. Craig’s departure will be felt deeply and after 18 years or so of him and I working together I would like to say that I wish him all the best and I love him and will miss him. The European tour that starts next week in Spain is going ahead with a temporary replacement for Craig. We will also play all other sceduled European festival shows over the summer.

The US shows sceduled for June are being moved to later in the year to coincide with the domestic release of ‘AurA’, and the movement of these dates is in no way related to recent events.

Thanks for your continued support. Keep the faith......
Wayne.

 DATE CANCELLED
Due to the ineptitude of the local promoter in Rio de Janeiro in double booking the venue, The Mission have been forced to cancel their show at the Monte Libano that was scheduled for Saturday 20th April. However, the rest of the scheduled South American tour is taking place as planned. The band is already in Sao Paulo rehearsing.

 SHINE ENTERS DAC CHART

12/Mar/2002
 INTERVIEW & SINGLE
Wayne will be doing a LIVE interview with Mat Mason at Total Rock around 1.45pm GMT tomorrow afternoon including playing tracks off "AurA" and some other faves. This can all be heard either via the internet on http://www.totalrock.com or if you have Sky Digital tune into channel 885.

Also, those of you who have ordered the "Shine..." single from the MWIS online store will shortly be receiving them -the majority of orders were posted Monday (11th), with the rest following Tuesday (12th) - thank you all for you patience!

08/Mar/2002
 SINGLE & UPDATES
"Shine Like The Stars" single is released Monday 11th March. The second single from the album AurA features additional tracks "Never Let Me Down", "Spider & the Fly (in the Ointment)" and "Sorry...". An MP3 download is available, featuring excerpts from the additional tracks. The single is already poised to enter the German DAC charts at Number 2! Copies can be purchased from the MWIS shop, amongst other sources.

We would also like to take this opportunity to appologise to those of you who have ordered the signed copies of the single; Every effort was made to make that we could get every copy signed - regretfully due to reasons beyond our control this was not possible to fufill. Playground/MWIS can assure you that we take every order seriously and were really pleased to offer signed copies... We are making every effort to rectify the matter.

We've received a large number of picture submissions from the AurA TourA - thanks to all of you who have sent them in!

Finally, we've collated the highlights from recent press reviews and comments, including recent reviews of the Astoria show.

4/Mar/2002
 THANKS & SHINE.. SINGLE
The Mission and MWIS would like to thank you all for the emails recently sent to the band, all of which have been nothing but praise for the shows you've been attending. While we haven't got enough time to answer them all, your comments are read and are appreciated. We hope you had as much fun as we did during those hectic 5 weeks.

We do, however, have some bad news - It is with considerable regret that Playground Recordings/MWIS are informing you that due to unavoidable delays actually getting the limited edition 7" double vinyl records transported across from the Czech Republic (ie they arrived in the UK a week later than originally advised!), we have had no option but to delay the release date of "Shine Like The Stars" until March 11.

As a direct result of the vinyl's late arrival, although the records have now been numbered the band had insufficient time to add their signatures prior to the Astoria show before taking deserved and planned short breaks after over long five weeks of touring.

For those of you who have already ordered your copy in advance, the vinyl singles can be supplied to you on March 11. However, if you want the band's signatures included as per the original plan, there is going to be a delay. Please let us know via e-mail at playground@themissionuk.com if you would prefer to wait.

Again, sincerest apologies that every effort made on our part was not able to resolve this successfully.

Playground Recordings

19/Feb/02
 FLORENCE PT 2
We have been asked by the promotor of the Italian shows if we would publish the following statement on his behalf:

"I'm Lorenzo Bedini from Cyc Promotions, the concert agency for The Mission Italian shows. I would like to say that I'm personally angry and sorry for what has happened and also that the band is absolutely NOT responsible for the cancellation of the show.

What happened is that the venue failed to provide all the equipment/safety requests which are necessary for a Mission concert to happen.

Months before the tour happened every venue on the Italian tour knew in detail what was requested. Every venue granted the fulfillment of the requests.

But in Prato-Firenze, both myself & the band found a different situation from the one expected. It would have not been possible to do the concert in that condition. The venue tried at the last minute to hire what was missing, and failed. At that point the show had to be cancelled. The Mission were there to play and were as angry as anybody else for the situation.

Regardless of any rumour you may have heard regarding the cancellation of the gig, the truth is that the band is not responsible.

For any complaint/comment/information you can email me directly at:
lorenzo@cycpromotions.com"

Also,Kataweb Musica have published an interview/review (in Italian).

Finally, the UK shows are selling fast - if you still haven't got your tickets, we recommend you move pretty quicky; Bristol has already sold out, whilst London and Leeds look to follow shortly! .

18/Feb/02
 FLORENCE SHOW
The band would like to appologise to all fans who took the trouble to attend the subsequently cancelled Florence show on Saturday. Since a number of rumours have been circulating as to the reason, we would like to take this opportunity to put the record straight. Despite the best efforts of the band and promoter to ensure that all arrangements for the show were in place, the venue failed to arrange suitable equipment, a safe stage area and generally did not meet the minimum standards the band believe are required to make a safe and enjoyable show. The band were looking forward to the show and are angry as many of you may have been that they weren't given the chance to play due to the apparent inadequacies of the venue. This is contrary to misinformation given by the venue (e.g. there was no problem with Wayne's voice).

We would also like to take this opportunity to quosh any rumour about any secret shows planned - the plain truth is there aren't any planned!

13/Feb/02

 AURA REVIEW
La Plume Noir, an American-French webzine based in California, USA has published their review of AurA. The full report can be viewed here. Here are some choice quotes from the article:

"Aura opens with "Evangeline", the unstoppable single whose arpeggios are reminiscent of the grand hour of "Beyond The Pale" and "Deliverance"...."Mesmerized" is a haunting lament of which the band has the secret. "Lay Your Hand On Me" alternates between the calm and the storm..."In Denial" concludes the album with suffering but in beauty....With Aura, The Mission has returned to its trademark sound and in the process reawakened the sensations thought to be buried forever."

11/Jan/2002

 TOUR DATES AND REVIEW
The band will be playing 2 warm up shows in the UK for the AurA TourA - 24th Jan at the Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth, followed by Oxford Zodiac on Sat. 26th Jan.

Q Magazine - a leading UK music magazine have reviewed AurA, giving it a justified 4 out of 5 stars. Here's what they had to say:
"...The only way forward (for the band) was either to give up or achieve a near-impossible career rejuvenation by writing The Mission's most satisfying album to date. Incredibly, Hussey has achieved the latter with an album that has the potential to reach a new generation of black-clad admirers. Aura oozes sleazy theatricality and citrus-like humour as the singer documents flamboyant sexual encounters in songs such as the anthemic (Slave to) Lust and Evangeline. The album stretches from Catalonian bars to the neon streets of Tokyo, freely indulging in the forbidden fruit of billowing, Banshee-esque guitars and guilt free pop choruses."

27/Dec/2001
 ADDITIONAL TOUR DATES
Everyone at MWIS hopes you all had an enjoyable Xmas and here's hoping 2002 brings us all what is deserved.

Additional dates for the AurA TourA are confirmed as Mannheim on 19th February and Bochum Zeche on the 20th.

19/Dec/2001
 TOUR UPDATE
We are happy to announce and confirm that Mike Peters (of The Alarm) will be supporting The Mission on their 'AurA TourA' at all shows in mainland Europe. In the UK, the support band will be some friends of Wayne's from California called 'Channel', with our very good friends HIM also being added to the bill for the London show as 'very special guests'. There will very likely be a second Bochum Zeche show added on the 20th February, to be confirmed early next, along with another show in Germany for the 19th, again to be confirmed. And also keep an eye out for a couple of warm-up 'quiet' shows on the south coast of England before the Paris date on the 27th January. We'll let you know here where and when.
Keep the Faith.

12/Dec/2001
 UK LTD EDITION
There have been a small number of you reporting that the UK Limited Edition Slipcase contains only one CD instead of the two indicated on the cover. We've investigated the matter and discovered a rogue batch were sent out with this error - if you are one of the people affected, please return CD to the shop where you bought it after Monday 17th Dec for a replacement, as corrected CDs will be available then. Sorry for the inconvience folks!

We hope to also make purchasing AurA (including the limited edition vinyl) and related singles through the web even easier shortly - full details to follow.

 WAYNE'S GUEST DJ INFO
Wayne will make a guest appearance at the Gotham Fashion event, 22 December In Sao Paulo - for the full information visit Gotham Website.

10/Dec/2001
TOUR UPDATE AND A SAD DEPARTURE
Due to, amongst other reasons, guitarist Mark Thwaite's ever increasing touring commitments with Tricky, and by mutual consent with the remaining three members of the band, we are sad to announce his departure from The Mission.

Mark's replacement, at least for the forthcoming tour, will be Rob Holliday who deputised for Mark on the recent tour of Germany, Switzerland & Austria with HIM. The band would like to take this opportunity to wish Mark all the best for the future, and to say Thankyou for his valuable contribution to the album 'AurA', and all the band activities over the last 9 years or so.

In other news, the band have added an additional date to the 2002 AurA tour; 28th Feb at the Bristol Fleece & Firkin. Wayne will also be guest DJ in Sao Paulo during the Christmas period - more info to follow.

As you will have already noticed, the new look MWIS is now (finally) live - there are a few gaps here and there but all important info is available. We've also brought back the messageboard - new and improved!

14/Nov/2001
 A WORD FROM WAYNE
Well, it's been a while but in my defence I have been rather preoccupied with other pressing concerns.......My apologies.......

As you are probably aware, "AurA" has now been released in only certain parts of Europe with the remainder to follow in the next few weeks. Again, our apologies to you in the UK, but you"re gonna have to wait a little longer than the rest of Europe. And it"s not because we don"t like you. It's because there have been a few technical delays, too mundane and boring to go into here. Anyway, think about the people in the rest of the world who are waiting, and are going to have to wait even longer than you, some, like the USA, until next year even.

Anyway, I can confirm that "Evangeline" will be released in the UK on the 19th November on Playground Recordings, with "Aura" to follow a week later on the 26th, again on Playground. "Evangeline" has 3 other tracks, these being "Anyone But You", "Melt", & "Swoon (reprise)".  The final track listing for the album is as follows: 1. Evangeline 2. Shine Like The Stars 3. (Slave to) Lust 4. Mesmerised 5. Lay Your Hands On Me 6. Dragonfly 7. Happy 8. To Die By Your Hand 9. Trophy/It Never Rains..... 10. The Light That Pours From You 11. Burlesque 12. Cocoon 13. In Denial.

The album was produced by myself with 6 songs being mixed by Dave Allen and 7 by Steve Power, two old friends of mine. In the UK (as in France & Germany) there will also be limited editions of the album that come with a bonus CD-Rom including the 'Evangeline' video' and a live version of 'Deliverance' filmed at Oberhausen but only the UK version will contain an exclusive additional track, an exclusive interview piece with yours truly interspersed with some recording footage of us hard at work recording "AurA", a direct link to this website to access an exclusive additional track only available here, some photos and some Mission related screensavers. Additionally the CD version of AurA will be available in a very limited quantity of CD slip cases. We are also releasing a strictly limited gatefold two disc vinyl version of "AurA".

We think the album is rather good and it represents a pretty good year for yours truly. I think you'll like it.

We do have touring plans for the new year and we hope to be able to confirm some of these plans in the next few days and we"ll let you know here on the website as soon as we know.

The tour in Germany, Austria, & Switzerland with HIM was a lot of fun. I think it"s fair to say that a good time was had by all. It"s been a long time since we played a support tour and it was great to play the bigger venues again. I think it"s fair to say that we did convert some new believers to the faith.

After a couple of weeks of promotion around Europe I"m now back in the studio again in California recording "b" sides and extra tracks for future singles. Some new songs, some cover versions, and some new versions of older songs.

OK, that's it from me for the time being.......see you soon.........
Love, Wayne.

 EVANGELINE / IMAGES
"Evangeline" enters the Deutsche Alternative Chart at No. 7 - the bands first chart entry in 10 years!!

Here are some choice quotes from Greece's Metal Hammer magazine during their interview

From the Review:
"This is the album of the year to me. It spins you from passion to tenderness and makes you forget to breathe. It would be unfair to categorize it as it is music for people, made by people that love music".

From the Interview:
"THE RETURN OF THE GOTH GIANT WITH THE TENDER HEART.
...I think his (Wayne's) history is enough to make clear to anyone his huge musical fingerprint..."

The band have sent in some pictures during the HIM tour - click here to check them out!

 AURA INFO
First some interviews are now available that were taken during the HIM tour - Invader.de (English) and Grenzwellen.com (German) are available.

Now, after almost six years of silence, we can officially confirm that the long wait in the UK is over!!!On November 12, The Mission will release a brand new 4 track single through Playground Recordings entitled "Evangeline " which we think is a bit special.

As previously mentioned in an earlier news update, confirmed track listings are:- "Evangeline", "Anyone But You", "Melt" and "Swoon (reprise)"  - Available formats:- limited edition CD single (PGNDCD 001) and limited edition 7" gatefold coloured vinyl pack (PGND 001) - please note that the vinyl format of "Evangeline" will ONLY be available in the UK.

All four tracks were produced by our Glorious Leader, Mr Huss, and mixed by Dave Allen who has produced a number of Cure albums (including Wish) and the first Sisters of Mercy (!) album among others in an illustrious career.

As many of you are aware, the band have been busy thundering across Germany, Austria and Switzerland playing in vast arenas to packed houses as Special Guests on the recent Him tour and having a lot of fun. Several people who have followed the band everywhere since the early days reckoned the second night in Zurich was arguably the best live show the band had ever played so it must have been quite a night!

In addition, Wayne and Craig completed over fifty important interviews during the tour and the media reaction to the band (and the new recordings which they have heard) has been extraordinarily positive. We have already included some quotes from key German and French magazines on the activity page and more will follow.

While all this mayhem has been going on, the UK label has been busy in their wake making arrangements for the band to get Mish records put out in as many countries as possible (see the activity page) which is what we all want surely. We can officially confirm that the band's records will be released internationally by the following record labels:-

GERMANY, AUSTRIA & SWITZERLAND (GAS) - SPV RECORDS
FRANCE & MONACO - XIII BIS RECORDS
PORTUGAL - ZONA MUSICA
ITALY - S4 RECORDS (Sony)
NETHERLANDS, BELGIUM & LUXEMBOURG - BERTUS RECORDS
SPAIN - MASTERTRAX
SCANDINAVIA - PLAYGROUND MUSIC
CZECH REPUBLIC & SLOVAKIA - MUTE RECORDS
POLAND, KALININGRAD, OBLAST, LITHUANIA, LATVIA & ESTONIA - SONIC RECORDS
GREECE & CYPRUS - CYBERDELIA RECORDS
HUNGARY - RECORD EXPRESS

We are delighted to welcome them all into the Mish family!

In the old days and before the arrival of the Internet and MWIS, Mission records were usually released simultaneously so everyone was able to hear the music at the same time. However, on this occasion, SPV RECORDS have been permitted to release the "Evangeline" single earlier than other countries to satisfy the interest and demand that has followed on from the recent successful three week stint of live shows in the GAS countries and one or two other companies like XIII BIS have asked to follow suit.

This week, "Evangeline" is being sent out to the UK radio stations, press publications and rock clubs and the new video is being despatched to the various TV stations so keep your ears and eyes peeled and let us know if you hear or see "Evangeline" anywhere. Wayne and Craig are going to be interviewed by a number of UK media people next Thursday in London. Again, the UK media reaction to the new recordings has been excellent. Further details on all these interviews will be available here in the next few days once they have been confirmed.

As far as the new album "AurA" is concerned, again SPV and XIII BIS are being permitted to release it a week or two earlier than here for the same reason as before.

For our UK followers, however, we are intending to include something extra special with "AurA" which will be unique and exclusive only to the UK release and not available anywhere else in the world. Expect a full announcement about further details on "AurA" to be made here in the next few days as soon as they are confirmed.

Keep the faith!

 AURA PRESS QUOTES

SONIC SEDUCER:
And then, all of a sudden, THE MISSION came up with "AurA", an album that can not only compete against its best predecessors but also leaves behind everything the band did in the last ten years. Now, how many bands are capable of doing this after more than fifteen years in this business?

ORKUS:
I can't deny to be amazed by the band's development! The boys made clear that everyone can again count on THE MISSION!
Ich kann nicht verleugnen, daß ich ob dieser Entwicklung begeistert bin! Mit The Mission dürfte wieder zu rechnen sein!

"The dignified heir of "God' Own Medicine" and "Carved In Sand", "AurA" is the album the fans have been waiting for for 10 years...God Bless The Mission!" (D-Side Magazine)

"First and foremost, we can enjoy the comeback of the year: THE MISSION are not only back, but have come up with a new album - a piece of art of the kind that's very rarely made by bands these days" (Zillo Magazine)
