Ditto. NWN2 is one of the few (in fact, as far I can think of, the only) future game release I'm looking forward to. I probably won't buy it straight away though - after all, half the fun is all the user-made content and campaigns (some of which, in my opinion, are much better than the OC), and there won't be any really good ones for a while until people make them. So I'll probably be sticking with the first one for a long while yet.

On the NWN2 forums one of the board rules in the FAQ is you can't ask when the game is supposed to be released. They're saying tentatively this June or July but now I don't know what to believe because I had heard by this Spring. And June is like... summer. So we'll see. Hopefully the extra delay means they're adding some really cool extra features and not just using an old marketing ploy and trying to delay it until 4th quarter for a Christmas release instead. That would really so NOT kick rocks.

The thing I like about NWN2 from what I've read is that all the NWN1 scripts should be transferrable. This is wonderful news if you're a programmer anyway. I think the bad news is the C.E.P. (community expansion pak) is pretty much screwed and has to start over in higher resolution models. I love all the extra content that the C.E.P. added. So we'll see... if the graphics are better but the over all graphical content is less then it's going to be a bit of a bad deal for the module builders. But beautiful screen shots so far, so I hope it'll be a really cool game. If it's as cool as it looks then it's going to be in the upper echelon of rock kicking type games.

There's some issues I hope they fix in NWN2, like custom polymorph type scripts working regardless of if the player uses druid-form or shapechanger type transformations while in a different character model. Otherwise have to restrict certain magic items to pure non-caster classes or suffer the wrath of "will the real penguin half-elf druid please stand up?" If you've messed with "appearance type" code long enough in NWN you know what I mean. A pure polymorph spell is "safe" but do an "appearance type" (base model) change directly and then polymorph over it and rest to change back and suddenly you're stuck "permanently" in the wrong character model. Bugs like that are really really annoying. Or the ghost bug where you use someone else's hakpack for awhile and export your character from it and load into a pure non-hackpack NWN module and you find that your character is now completely ghostlike... Grrrr... I hate that bug. I hope bioware fixes these things but I have a feeling they won't.

Still, just the same I can't wait for when NWN2 comes out.

- The ability to choose any head
- And then any set of hair
- A MASS variety of hair colors
- Eye color
- Facial hair
- And apparently lip synch?!

Needless to say this is going to do wonders for NeN...
