Fiona on New Johnny Cash Album

According to a recent Rolling Stone news story, Johnny Cash's new album, American IV: The Man Comes Around, will be released November 5th. This album will include collaborations with artists Nick Cave and Don Henley, not to mention our own Fiona! She appears singing with Cash on their own version of Paul Simon's "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

The track listing is as follows:

The Man Comes Around

Hurt

Give My Love to Rose

Bridge Over Troubled Water (featuring Fiona!)

I Hung My Head

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Personal Jesus

In My Life

Sam Hall

Danny Boy

Desperado

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry

The Streets of Laredo

Tear Stained Letter

We'll Meet Again

We all know Fiona has had rumored collaborations in the past that either fell through or weren't released (i.e. - Foxy Brown, Crystal Method, and Brad Mehldau), but since Rolling Stone already has a track list and a release date for this album, I think it is more likely to pan out.

Fiona Debuts Another New Song at the Largo!
Fans in attendance Jon Brion's regular Friday night show at the Largo on August 2nd got a special treat! Fiona debuted a new song on the piano that night, which is entitled "A New Version of Me," as she told a fan who inquired about the song after the show. It's not certain that it will be on the upcoming album, but the song has been recorded. According to a fan who heard the debut, it was a "very fast, angry song." The final line of the song, in signature Fiona style, is "Here comes a better version of me."

Also, Fiona's been singing two new standards at the Largo, "On a Slow Boat to China" and "River Stay 'Way From My Door." If you live in the L.A. area and decide to drop by the Largo, it's more likely in recent weeks that you will have the chance to see her. Since she is working with Jon on the new album, she is making more appearances there, probably getting back into the swing of performing. It's a $10 cover at the door and a $10 food minimum per person if you want a table, but Jon's performances, with or without his more famous guests, are worth it!

My apologies for keeping you all waiting on these recordings and pictures. I won't get into my excuses, I'll just lay them on you! But a couple of things first. One, I dont mean to say that these mp3s and videos are amazing quality. The videos are rather low in quality due to the extremely low light in the Largo. They are simple clips from my digital camera.

Also... please, guys, don't take these and put them on your sites as if you made them. I am more than willing to share news, but I went through a lot to get these recordings. And by all means, do not burn these to sell it or something. That is what gets us in trouble for booting shows. But you are welcome to download and listen and trade them at your leisure.
