5 (6, 7) balls of Crème #2015 "henna"

16" circular and 12-14" SP US size 9 US or size needed to obtain gauge
Cable Needle
Sizes: XS, S/M, L/XL
Finished Chest Measurements: 32 (38,

Gauge: 19 sts and 25 rows=4” in St st
Stitches: [See the chart for
placement of these stitches in the center panel.]
4-st LC: 4 Stitch, Left Cross: With yarn in back of work, sl 1, K3, pass
the slipped st over the 3 K sts.
4-st RC: 4 Stitch, Right Cross: K3 sts, move these 3 sts back to left
hand needle, slip the 4th st from left needle over the 3 K sts, move the 3 sts
back to right hand needle.
3-3 Cable Left Leaning: Move 3 sts to cable needle and hold in front of
work, K3 from left hand needle, K3 from cable needle.
3-3 Cable Right Leaning: Move 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back of
work, K3 sts from left hand needle, K3 from cable needle.
Instructions:
Back:
CO 88 (104, 120) sts. K 1 row.
Row 1: (RS): k4, *yo, k2tog, k6; rep from * 2 (3, 4) more times, pm, work
Row 1 of chart over center 32 sts, pm, *k6, yo, k2tog; rep
from * 2 (3, 4) more times, end k4
Row 2: p to marker, work Row 2 of chart, p to end of row
Row 3: k4, *SSK, yo, k6; rep from * 2 (3, 4) more times, work Row 3 of
chart, *k6, SSK, yo; rep from * 2 (3, 4) more times, end k4
Row 4: p to marker, work Row 4 of chart, p to end.
Cont in pattern as established, working subsequent rows of chart.
At same time, when piece measures 2 ½” from beg, keeping to pattern, dec 1 st at
each end next row then every 10th row 3 more times.
Then, inc 1 st at each end every 10th row 4 times.
Cont in pattern until piece measures 14 (14, 15)” from beg. End with WS row
completed.
Shape Armholes
BO 3 (5, 6) sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st at each end 7 sts in from edge every other row 4 (7, 8) times while
maintaining the following over those 7 sts – 74 (80, 88) sts
RS: k2, (p1, k1) twice, p1, work in pat to last 7 sts, p1, (k1, p1)
twice, k2
WS: p2, (k1, p1) twice, k1, work in pat to last 7 sts, k1, (p1, k1)
twice, p2
Work even until armhole measures 7 ½ (7 ½, 8 ½)”, maintaining first and last 7
sts in ribbing and keeping to pat over rem sts.
Shape Shoulders
BO 8 (10, 12) sts beg next 2 rows, then BO 9 (10, 12) sts beg next 2 rows – 40,
(40, 40) sts
Place rem sts on holder for back of neck.
Front:
Work same as Back until armhole measures 5½ (5½, 6½ )”.
Keeping to pattern, work across 21 (24, 28) sts, place center 32 sts on holder,
attach another ball of yarn and work rem 21 (24, 28) sts.
Working both sides at the same time, dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 4
times.
Work until piece measures same as Back. BO shoulders as for Back.

With circular needles and RS facing, slip the sts from the back neck holder on
to needle, pick up 10 sts along neck edge, slip the sts from the front neck
holder on to needle, pick up 10 sts along neck edge.
Maintaining the chart pattern as established in the sweater,
join and continue in chart pattern over the center 32 sts on the Back and the
Front. Over the rem 14 sts on each side between these two sets of 32 sts, work
as follows:
Row 1: (RS): k6, yo, k2tog, k6
Row 2: p
Row 3: k6, SSK, yo, k6; rep from
Row 4: p
Work for 2” and BO.
Weave in ends on WS.
