Formula 1 Season starts today!
A few new drivers Kimmi in Red, Fernando in a Mclaren. Should be an interesting season. Starts in Melborn (on speed TV @ 10:30 eastern tonight)
Ends Otober 21 in Brazil.
Nothing like the sound of a V-8 at 18,000 RPM's

Thanks for bringing up a sore subject.
I booked a condo at Crystal Mountain for the weekend to celebrate his 50th birthday. He seemed to be having fun, right up until he found out THEY DON'T CARRY SPEED on the cable tv package. I will never live it down that I didn't check to see if they carry speed
Okay okay, I'll miss it too, but thank goodness we have a friend taping it for us and he'll get to watch it tomorrow. Whew!

I was on the way back from JOs at Aspen, doing the "all night drive" thing so I missed it too. Thank goodness for TIVO.
Looks like it's going to be a good year.

I'll never "get it" - how driving a car can be a "sport".
I know there's enormous skill and daring involved, and I respect their courage.
But, the car's doing the work.
Wasn't it Hemmingway who said:
"There are only three sports - bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; the rest are merely games".
Apparently, Ernest "got it".

Skiing's not a sport either. Gravity is doing all of the work.

The cars not doin all the work. I remember one race where the drivers were so tired that they sat on the podium.

I hear that "normal" people who do a few laps with a race driver, take a while to recover - quite nerve-wracking.
It takes a unique personality, and body-type to endure that kind of mental and physical pressure.
Okay, it's a sport!
