Information:

  • This extension will NOT add full screen support!
  • Your browser MUST support full screen!

After install make your settings:

  • Tools => (Add-ons) => Extensions => Autohide => Right-Click => Options

FAQ:

  • Q1: When will this extension be listed on addons.mozilla.org?
  • A: Probably never.
  • Q2: Can you add an option to hide scrollbars?
  • A: I can add many options...
  • Q3: Will you add an option that actually hides scrollbars?
  • A: As long as 'the solution' is unsatisfactory: No!
  • Q4: Why is it not possible to auto hide the sidebar?
  • A: I don't use the sidebar.
  • Q5: I'm using this cool theme from 'xyz', but Autohide sucks with this theme!
  • A: I'm testing only with the default theme.
  • Q6: Will you ever answer to emails?
  • A: Yes! If I have the time and the questions are not about Q1 - Q5.

  • Q7: "Zombie Mode"? What?
  • A: Use Shift and F11... (bottom of the page)

Settings

Start Browser in full screen mode:

  • Use "-fullscreen" as command line option
  • for specific site: -URL "http://www.google.com" -fullscreen
  • Or shutdown while in full screen mode

Disable "floating toolbars":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.noFloat", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!
    ("floating toolbars" not supported on other systems)

Adjust menu delay (ms):

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.delay", 50)
  • default is 50

Enable "Semi Mode":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.semiMode", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!

Enable full screen over all screens:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.multiFull", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!

Set "Zombie Mode" as default:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieMode", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!

Border for "Zombie Mode":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieBorder", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!

Border and Titlebar for "Zombie Mode":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieBorderAndTitle", true)
  • default is false
  • Windows only!

Change border-width of full-screen-plugins:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.pluginMargin", 2)
  • default is 2

Keep the look (size, text etc.) of toolbar buttons (1.1.4):

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.keepButtons", true)
  • default is false
