Hallowed Woods by Seed(Exterior : Other) - This is an area I created using the YATT plug for the NWN2 Toolset. I have not added any grass, trees, placables or water. It is just the raw area output created by YATT. The only thing I did after creating the area with YATT was to clean up the walkmesh and bake it. This is a good example of what you can make using YATT - I did not edit the terrain or textures at all in the toolset. Feel fre
Simple Respawning Placeable System by Moradin the Soul Forger(Placeables: Miscellaneous) - This is a simple system for respawning any placeable in from the toolset, designed fro use in PWs. It relies on single script, and coordinating the tags and resrefs of the placeable, a way point and a trigger. The erf file contains the script, which has detailed instructions for its use, and an area that sets up a demonstration, as well as a couple of beginning placables.
Give Item OnUsed Script (easy to use) by Finamenon(Inventory Item) - The purpose of this script is to emulate the player picking up placeables/items from his or her surroundings. For example, there is a placeable of a scroll, so you could insert this script on that placeable, and when the player uses it, he/she will get an item. This script is one script you place on any useable placeable's OnUsed event. It is very simple to use and install.

NWN2 Spotlight - Teper's Hidden Valley Prefab by Teper's or aadatepe.[ Comment ] Print News | Category: NWN2 - Spotlight Tonight we a Neverwinter Nights 2 Prefab in the spotlight created by Teper's or aadatepe. Titled "Teper's Hidden Valley Prefab ", is based on J R R Tolkiens Rivendell (Imladris), home of the high elves. This area has beautiful waterfalls, trees and shrubs and wooden decking and buildings. Certainly worth the download! Please remember to leave comments and vote, authors always appreciate the feedback. Here's an excerpt:
Hi everybody,I am releasing a new area prefab called Hidden Valley, based on Tolkien's Rivendale Valley.
I hope everybody will enjoy it as I enjoyed making it. I had some walkmesh problems with the decking tried fixing as much as
possible, still some spots that are strange but for the most part it works fine. I decided to use some of the
water fall effects that botu and moefx have created. Basically I broken down some of the effect into smaller
individual effects for easy extension and placement. For the walkmesh I used Placeable Walkmesh Helper version 0.3, by Zarathustra217.
Thanks for your contribution Teper's or aadatepe. If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.
Hall of Famer Bruce Neilson Releases his Bioware World Design Contest Entry.[ Comment ] Print News | Category: NWN - Spotlight Hall of Famer Bruce Neilson has released his entry for the Bioware World Design Contest with a module titled Raid On Tarshys, which continues his world of Harthe theme and is a shortened version of his Hall of Fame module "Light Reborn: Legends". There is approx 30-40 minutes of game-play for a PC between level 9 -14, where the player will find them self in the city of Anvid to meet with their leader - to find out what follows, you'll just have to play the module! Here is an excerpt:
Mod Info:
The module has been balanced to be very challenging at level 9, moderate challenge at level 10 or 11, and easy but fun at level 12 or above. To keep the time down to under 40 minutes, you'll probably want to use a level 12 or 13 character.
I am able to run through the module in 20 minutes if I stay to the main path. With the minor side paths, it only raises the time about 5 or 10 minutes. Plus if you have to read every word, I'd expect another 10 minutes. So in all, the module will take 30 to 40 minutes to play.
This mod is a shortened version of my The Light Reborn: Legends mod. It does contain series spoilers.
Background:
A shadow has fallen across the world of Harthe. The arrival of a man, named Samuel, claiming to be a Veranite -- the lost race of kings blessed by the Creator of Harthe with divine power -- causes a stir in the country of Anvid. Could he really be a Veranite? Does he serve the Light, as he says, or is he a deceiver?
Samuel gathers heroes across the land to do the will of the Virtues -- the spirits of good that he claims to talk to. You are one such hero. But the power of the Dark does not stand still. Who can resist it?
You are at war! You must protect my home country of Anvid from their invader - Seradez.
After recently stopping an attack from Seradez, you have returned to Anvid City to meet back up with your leader, Samuel Meladon. What mission will he have for you this time?

It makes the Model skip the later frames in its walk animation sequence (I like to call this motion.....the bioware shuffle).
Are you using the keyboard to walk, or holding the mouse button down so you can adjust the walk mid-stride?
If that's the case, that's expected behaviour as the client and server are put into a state where they constantly poll and update the status of the walking, so as a result it can reset the walk cycle animation, hence the shuffle you see.
Greatsword animation help needed I think those animations are animrooted to the right or left arm, and override any other ones unless they're in another animation mode that overrides that (combat usually).

Disconnected. When you load a "Premium Module" via the "New" -> "Other Modules" ->"Load Module" screen it's name will be displayed in the list.
As you have a router you're going to want to ensure it is configured properly using the instructions in my above post
Very strange... error 110623 is only ever called when authentication of a premium module fails due to an unauthorized CD-key.
Can you send me the key1,key2 and key3 entries of your nwncdkey.ini file as a private message? I know you've already checked this, but to date we've had *no* false positives when this error is called...
Well the first thing I would suggest is that you download and install this critical rebuild to remove the disk check on NWN Diamond: Click Here
If it still complains about the emulation software please shut down any disk emulation software (i.e. Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, and some versions of Nero)
We found out that the problem had to do with SecuRom. Even though we couldn't reproduce the issue internally, we were able to work with the SecuRom folks and find a resolution to this problem. Our thanks goes out to all those community members that helped by sending in their DXdiag files, sent in error reports and volunteered to play with some experimental builds. You all are great examples of what is right with the NWN2 community, and we couldn't have done it without you.
So, as I said, we expect to have a hot fix available today. We should be posting something when it becomes available.
We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration of all this and thank you for your patience and cooperation.

More: Well the Hot Fix is in QA. Hopefully we will have it out to you tomorrow or Thursday.
1.06 Crash on Game Start We are happy to say that we will be releasing a Hot Fix for this issue (hopefully) today, barring any issues with the build.

Wondering With NWN2, there is an example module named Uninvited Guests. We have also released tutorial documentation that can be located here: Click Here
In patch 1.06 some new CLASS_TYPE_* constants were added including: Favored Soul, Spirit Shaman, Arcane Scholar of Candlekeep, Red Wizard of Thay, Invisible Blade and Stormlord. We've heard rumors about all of them except for Invisible Blade and Stormlord, and, while I can understand Invisible Blade (Lots of people complaining that dexers are underpowered and they are full AB with sneak attack), but Stormlord? It's a pretty restrictive class (only followers of Talos) and without the ability to throw spears and no javelins, their shocking bonus seems limited. Unless the followers of Talos feature strongly in MotB, I don't see why of all the classes they could choose they chose this one. Seems like an odd choice. Any thoughts?
Crashing when creating Character Check your sound driver too. They tend to conflict with a bunch of things as well, so you may want to look at the device manager to see if there is a conflict with the sound card at all.
Nathaniel Chapman - Assistant Producer, Obsidian Entertainment -
This is unfortunately going to have to wait until later in the week - tomorrow at the soonest. However, it still appears to be the case that this will fix the issue once ready.
Scaling the models seems to be a favorite technique; is this something new to NWN2? The ability to scale the monsters within the toolset itself is new to NWN2 I believe, yes. And wow, that really makes things interesting... Need a 50 ft. killer kitty in your module? If you do, I want to play it! It's another roadblock that's been shattered for builders and I'm really digging the feature!
We'd like to congratulate jclef on winning the contest, and our NWN2 Interviewer's Zaknafein & Aessinus for conducting the interview.
NWN2 Spotlight - Prairie Area by Sir Kicley.[ Comment ] Print News | Category: NWN2 - Spotlight Tonight we have a Neverwinter Nights 2 Prefab in the spotlight created by Sir Kicley. Titled "Prairie Area", a visually pleasing prefab, that transmits a sense of endless wide open prairie land. To walk in this prairie is stunning, and while you might think there is little to see, you would be wrong, as the marvels of nature call out to and draw your eye from one spot to another. The author has an artistic eye for sure and this is a grand début submission. Here's an excerpt:
This is my very first attempt at creating an area. I read through the Help Tutorial with the toolset and tried my hand at it. It is a small area of prairie-like terrain. This has no encounters, creatures, NPCs, triggered events, or scripting.
It is simply an area landscape to practice and shore up on skills of making terrain.
I am hoping some of the more veteraned module makers can take a look and give me some feedback; whether I'm on the right path towards doing something good, and/or where I fault and can improve.
Thanks for your contribution Sir Kicley. If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.
KOH- Witches of the Plague (Alfa testrunner 3) by Razoorsharp (Attic Evolved)(Single Player) - I finally have connected all area's together, so this time you can walk through the entire module . There are some issues 1: Labyrinth, temple, Amanii house bedrooms, Mill , Sisterhood of Weberkar house and some other interior's are not done yet and so are not included i this module .. Most of them (except the sisterhood) make their way into ACT II of the module anyway, and so ha
Tanithiel by Xandurpein(Multiplayer (1-4 Players)) - Tanithiel is a chaotic good half-drow rogue/assassin with a very checkered past. Tanithiel is a romanceable companion that can follow your character between different mods using the FRW persistant companion system. Talernon2 Tainted Beastmen by Talernon2 DM Team(Creatures: Monstrous Humanoid) - A group of 30 beastmen, from CR5 - 5, for use in your module. A few items got transfered over, so I just left them. As with any creature import, simply import the erf file. You may want to change things like weapons, and so on, these are made for a mid-level magical world, and a few use darkness (in hopes the bug will be fixed one day that goes with it) Hope you like them :) More to come
Talernon2 PW Weather System by Talernon2 DM Staff(Entire Module/PW systems) - Talernon2 Weather System: A simple system you can use to have weather in your module, area by area. OE Community Update Blog - Rob McGinnis.[ Comment ] Print News | Category: NWN2 - Community News Obsidian Entertainment's Rob McGinnis keeps a NWN2 Blog which he updates weekly. This week Rob talks about Multiselect, the DM Console (as well as posting a ton of scripts that will become available) Mask of the Betrayer camera changes and most interestingly "the ability to click and drag a box around a character to control individual or multiple characters". Rob also features Robinson Workshop Sewer Tileset & their Multi-Level Deep Halls tileset, and the screenshots are beauties!
Next Rob spotlights another PW, this week he features Dragon Coast: Shores of Haldun There are some rather amazing screenshots, and tons of details about this server. This world offers a Mentoring and Essence system, solo friendly dungeons, a wealth cap, disguises, random loot and much more besides!
And finally the big surprise! Obsidian are adding a Bronze Dragon model to the toolset in the 1.07 patch. This deep chested beauty is certainly worth drooling over!
Another week, and another Fantastically stupendous update from Rob McGinnis. Please head on over to his blog to get the full low down.
Patch, are you asking if you can draw a scene based on a screenshot of the NWN2 game? I would say yes. Tracing the picture could be a little bit in the gray area of plagarism, though.
Fair enough, but change does still start with the individual. Again, if anyone sees something they feels is inappropriate, toss us a PM. The faster we know of something, the faster we can deal with it and the less chance there is it will evolve into something ugly. I'm not saying the community should do our job for us, but feel free to give us a little help. A heads up now and then can go a long way to changing what gets posted and what people perceive as being tolerated on the boards. If the community really wants change, then we should work as a community to foster that change.
Let me second this. The NWN2 boards are very busy. It is near impossible for the moderators to read every thread. Also, we don't want to be fascist about these boards, but we do want to enforce a modicum of peace.
You are all given the opportunity to police each other by sending the moderators or me a message, letting us know when there is a problem. Please feel free to use that opportunity.
I applaud the intent of this thread. It doesn't need to devolve into a criticism of how the moderators do their job, though.
Today, I have a day time job that's perfectly sufficient in the make-things-difficult-for-me department. When I come home after 10 hours of work and a heap of troubleshooting, I want to relax. Something that's purely a hobby is supposed to be simple, fun and rewarding. For many folks like me, the mountain I have to climb before being able to tell my D&D stories with this toolset is simply too high (and too thorny, cold, and full of unfriendly critters). And thus, only a few casual modders climb it.
Or in business terms: the up-front investment is too high and the returns come too late.
I think you are generalizing your opinion as the norm, which may not be accurate.
Personally, when I read your message, to me it is not so much a failing of the toolset that your message gives, but a failing of the people - or the changes to society, I guess.
Philosophy Hat On:
When you say this:
Quote: Something that's purely a hobby is supposed to be simple, fun and rewarding.
It makes me think about all those people that do model ship building and ship-in-a-bottle building and those fisherman that tie flies as a way to relax. I think of all those people that build Star Wars armor as a hobby or carve stone and paint. Or those people that restore old cars or boats. None of that is simple. All of it is time consuming and the reward for all of that takes months to realize.
So I am thinking that you are the type of person that needs to work through quick projects, and you don't like the kind of slow-progress project that I mentioned above. That's fine. Not every hobby is for every person.
We who enjoy NWN2 mods have a lot to thank Tragedy for. I tell you, I and other modders would have probably 'abandoned ship' had we not seen, with our own eyes, that a truly quality mod could be built with the toolset. Up until that point, the mods were, though interesting, mostly limited to character levelers or pure hack n slash mods with no journal, or story, or anything else. The fact that it came out early was a double-motivator, as it showed that it didn't take two years to get a good mod out.
I had read some comments on the forums from noobs (I was one at the time) how long a good mod would take - the answers were disheartening. One guy said '20 to 30' months, another one said 'years' and I think the best one was 'you can't do it without a team'.
Luckily, one person said '3 to 6 months', which is what I focused on! ;>
Yes, the hyperbole has been pretty strong. Thankfully there are a lot of people that ignore it all and just keep building away.
