Gary Goldberger

Gary Goldberger has been a cornerstone of the "vision" in FableVision since the studio began. A 21st century renaissance man, Gary is a blend of business, technology, art, fun and mission — to tell "stories that matter, stories that move." His passion for woodworking, toys, motorcycles, physics, snowboarding, programming and sculpture, among a myriad of diverse interests, add a richness to his perspective and beautifully reflect his inventive "out of the box" spirit.

As FableVision Vice President and Director, Gary’s unique blend of talents has been instrumental in the studio’s success. Gary oversees and nurtures the creative team of animators, educators, writers, designers, programmers and project managers.

Gary’s talents were the beacon that drew Peter Reynolds to him to form a natural and fruitful creative partnership. Together they laid the foundation for the studio. It wasn’t long before he was taking on Peter’s original stories and artwork, directing the animated short films The Blue Shoe and Living Forever. Both films have been honored in over 70 film festivals worldwide and have been broadcast internationally. His pioneering use of paperless animation technology earned the studio a 1999 Silver BDA Award.

Gary’s directorial talents and management have brought to life over 250 projects including 72 interstitials for PBS/PBS Kids, spots for Nickelodeon’s Red Rocket.com, I.D. spots for Noggin, a William Steig animated film for Scholastic/Weston Woods, two animated original series pilots for Noggin, and PBS/ZOOM’s animated segment bumpers.

Gary’s humor and innovative spirit have also helped shape FableVision’s playful approach to learning. He was quick to see the power of Peter’s story The North Star. He became driven to show that all children could achieve their best if allowed to bloom in their own way.

"I had my own quirky path to where I am today. It was the creativity of teachers and mentors who allowed me the freedom to become an individual. My mission at FableVision is to help people tell their own, unique stories."

With a broadcast sensibility and an appreciation for quality children’s media, as well as his extensive knowledge of cutting-edge digital hardware and software, Gary offers invaluable navigation as FableVision extends its reach into the cross-media/new media universe.
