Dexcon VII: BOOTLEGGED

Event Info - the schedule

Dexcon officially starts on Friday, August 3rd, and runs until Tuesday, August 7th.

Aug. 3rd

This is the first day of the con. We will be meeting at the Fiddler's Green across the street from Wellsley Subway Station. The private section will be opened in the afternoon. Those of you arriving that day should complete your check in at whichever hotel or hostel you intend to stay at and make your way over. Those arriving prior to that date, the day is yours, but please be at the Fiddler's Green no later than 6pm.

Aug. 4th

The Saturday is booked for the workshop, which will run from 1pm to 5pm. We have the Fiddler's Green booked until close that night.

Aug. 5th

Sunday is the formal dinner. Dinner MAY take place at Big Daddy's at 5pm. If so, we will be meeting for everyone's favourite picture fury in the municipal park across the street from the restuarant. That is just west of Roy Thompson Hall, at King St and Simcoe St.

This is subject to change. We may choose a new venue for the formal this year.

Aug. 7th

Monday is the final day of the con. We will be meeting at 7pm in the upstairs private room of the Yellow Griffin pub at Bloor St and Runnymede St (across from Dex' apartment). The upstairs will actually be open a few hours earlier for those of us who are really dedicated drinkers. The band, Johnny Devil and the Screamin' Demons will be performing from 9pm until 1am.

Aug. 8th

People return home.

We'd like to remind people that John plays until late on MONDAY NIGHT, so plan to leave Tuesday, not Monday.

Other than the times listed, your time here is your own. Below are events and locations of interest in Toronto. If you want to try some of these attractions, Friday and Sunday morning is an excellent time to get groups of people together. There are several of us willing to help arrange your travel and information for groups going to a different location. However, the times listed above are actual booking in establishments that have not hosted us for eight years or more, so we must request that you are (relatively) on time and at the locations at the times listed, to ensure their goodwill.
