ATON'S

"Capolinea"

(Musea FGBG 4448.AR, 2002 - Italie)

Aton’s is certainly one of the most ancient italian progressive bands, as it was created in 1977 ! 25 years and several albums later, the band has decided to stop, and "Capolinea" should be their last album. It’s been recorded from 1997 to 2000 by the last line-up of the band: Pietro Ratto (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Vito Frallonardo (bass), and Riccardo Lombardo (drums). Riccardo has won several prizes and festivals, and is a real virtuoso! Through the years Aton’s has been creating a very personal music, mixing English progressive and neo-progressive rock with the Italian Pop Rock (and progressive) tradition. These nine pieces are italian sung, enhanced by neo-classical short pieces. Aton’s music is concise, dynamic, with aggressive guitar riffs and solis, complex keyboard parts, and nice vocals. Ballads, instrumentals, symphonic pieces: all sorts of progressive music are offered here, with a real talent and sincerity. A band that deserves respect.
