Environmental remarks
Oak is imported from many countries, of which two are important, US 40% and France 30%. Conform the assumptions in the first source for the USA an average distance to Rotterdam is 6200km, France 800km and the remaining is assumed to be 1000km away. he wood is usually (>75%) sawn and dried in the exporting land. The annual production in culture is between 3 - 9 m3/ha/y, with an average of 6, depending on region, at a growth cycle of 100 years.
