X MARKS THE SPOT
Why draw a treasure map with no X marks the spot. Too obvious. Perhaps?

WHERE ON THE ISLAND DO YOU START?
Not uncommon is the belief, that any treasure chart should posses an X marks the spot. If skeleton island Possessed such an X, I would seriously doubt it's authenticity, as it would no doubt have been drawn to tempt some adventurous or drink sodden fools to part with their cash, in other words the directions to the treasure must be immediately apparent to the purchaser, or they wouldn't buy it. Would You?

No, Skeleton Island doesn't possess an X marks the Spot, it has a marked landing point, with a set of directions. However there is no CLEAR indication where to start the directions from, nor is there a cross any where on the chart, to denote a cache, so where on the island do you START.?

I will close this site, with a few observations on the supposed directions to a cache, as written on Skeleton.
Focusing our attention on the Skeleton Chart, it is clear that the (artist) could easily have written all of his text on the horizontal, but he hasn’t, perhaps to insinuate that the chart could be viewed from more than one Direction? (The signature for instance, is supposed to be that of Wm. Kidd, yet the signature on the chart and Kidd’s genuine signature, bear no resemblance.

If, however the signature is rotated and viewed from the north end of the chart,
the ‘W’ takes on the part profile of a ‘Bird’.
To complete the profile I added in the ‘Birds’ Chest.

This could interpret as part of a Code to the cache, Who? or What Is the Bird,?
There was a pirate named Le Bussier (the Buzzard). Henry Avery was also known as the Raven ??

The ‘K’ is also a significant factor in determining where to start one’s search.
Unfortunately I cannot divulge It’s ‘Secret’.
The first line of the written Directions reads 18west and by 7east.Coincidentally, a scaled Admiralty chart of Maio, measures,(25mm) from the west to east coast, on the latitudes of mountain, St. Antonio. This mountain, as mentioned makes up the north eastern end of the valley, its position being (18mm from the West coast and 7mm from the east coast)! Sounds familiar

The word ‘Tree’ in the Directions is drawn with the letters r e e, underlined or joined?

When this is viewed from the same Direction as the ‘Bird’. The word ‘Tree’, resembles the shape of a sailing ship. Possibly a Portuguese Caravel?! Could this mean that artist was informing us that a SHIPS CARGO was waiting to be discovered?

The last section of directions reads; 7 by 8 by 4. Notice the word ‘by’, As the tail of the ‘Y’ is crossed. Denoting that 7 by 8 by 4 .=7 x 8 x 4 which is a volume, box or cargo hold.? Whereas the letter ‘Y’, in the first line , 18W and by 7E. remains uncrossed? This is where I must stop myself from giving away too much information, I hope this site has managed to Fire your Imagination.

A journal on my Quest, will be released shortly, anyone wishing to know more can request information by emailing me
