LGBTIQ Heath
The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered,
intersexed, and questioning (LGBTIQ) population has been identified
as an at-risk population.
Recent data suggests that LGBTIQ
youth
and adults have many high
health risks and behaviors, including higher rates of substance abuse,
suicidal ideation, tobacco use, breast cancer, HIV and STI
transmission, and lack of access
to LGBTIQ-competent health care services.*
