Current Construction Projects

• Project 1

Interstate 10 / 110 (State Road 8 / State Road 8A) Escambia County - Pensacola, Florida: Widen Interstate 10 to six lanes between Davis Highway and U.S. Highway 29; and widen Interstate 110 to six lanes between the I-10 interchange and the Airport Boulevard overpass. Interchange improvements are also under construction at I-10/Davis Highway and I-10/I-110.  $76-million; Project scheduled for completion in the spring of 2008.  Archer-Western Construction, Contractor. The Flyover Ramp is now open and carrying I-10 westbound traffic up and over the I-10 eastbound lanes and on to Interstate 110 southbound. The flyover ramp, combined with the six laning of I-10 between Davis Highway (Exit 13) and U.S. Highway 29 (Exit 10) and improvements to the I-10/Davis Highway interchange are improving mobility and enhancing safety for Pensacola’s “northern gateway.” Work continues on the Fairfield Drive on-ramp to I-110 northbound.

• Project 2

SR 85 (John Sims Parkway) Okaloosa County:  Multi-lane construction on John Sims Parkway from south of Government Avenue to east of Bayshore Drive.  1.61 miles; $12 million.  Anticipated completion May 2008. Visit the Web site.

• Project 3

  State Road 30 (US98) Okaloosa County :  Resurfacing from the pavement change west of Airport Road to the Walton County line and from the Okaloosa County line to the beginning of the curb and gutter in Sandestin.  The intersection of Driftwood road is also included in the project. CW Roberts Contracting is the Contractor.  7.5 miles; $12 million.  Anticipated completion, 2009.

• Project 4

  State Road 75 (US231) Bay County :  Resurfacing from the Jackson County line to State Road 20. Anderson Columbia, Contractor.  9.5 miles; $15 million.  Anticipated completion, Spring 2009.
   

• Project 5

Interstate 10 (State Road 8) Leon County - Tallahassee, Florida:  Multi-lane construction on I-10 from west of CR 155/Meridian Road to E. of SR 261/Capital Circle.  Project began October 2006.  Anderson Columbia, Contractor.  3.9 miles; $60.5 million.  Anticipated completion, August 2009.  Visit the Web site.

• Project 6

Interstate 10 (State Road 8) Leon County - Tallahassee, Florida:  Multi-lane construction on I-10 from the pavement changes west of CR 361 to west of CR 155 (Meridian Road). Archer Western Contracting, Contractor.  2.8 miles; $54.3 million.  Anticipated completion, December 2008.  Visit the Web site.

Interstate 10 (State Road 8) Leon County - Tallahassee, Florida:  Multi-lane construction on I-10 from east of the Rest Areas to the pavement change west of CR 361.  C W. Roberts Contracting, Contractor.  3.9 miles; $37.7 million.  Anticipated completion, March 2009.  Visit the Web site.
