The Bill of Rights Defense Committee
This organization helps local community members "support repeal of parts of the USA PATRIOT Act and Executive Orders that infringe on Constitutional rights" by passing resolutions at the local government level. Includes planning tips, sample language, and a list of communities that have passed or are considering resolutions. (What do you think? Does the Patriot Act (legislation passed for combatting terrorism) go too far? Are our rights and liberties in jeopardy?)
The Bill of Rights: A Brief History
The history of the Bill of Rights from the ACLU. Links to briefing papers on specific amendments in the Bill of Rights are included. (Keep in mind that the ACLU is known for a very pro-rights, anti-big government viewpoint. Do you agree with them, disagree, or are you somewhere in the middle?)
