ABOUT US

MIKE MASON - BLACK INDUSTRIES MANAGER
MikeBorn in Leicester, (although some dark rumours persist that this is a lie and in fact he was born and raised in Arkham), Mike Mason has been involved in gaming in one way or another for over 25 years. Mike’s exploits include publishing The Whisperer, a Call of Cthulhu and horror fanzine, writing scenarios, recording podcasts, organising conventions and running tournaments.

In a previous existence, Mike helped to set up GW’s School’s League competition and manage the UK’s largest gaming show, Games Day & Golden Demon. Mike likes very hot chilli, beer, tentacles and The Pixies, although not necessarily in that order.

ZOË WEDDERBURN - BOARD GAMES BRAND MANAGER
ZoeBorn in Scotland but having not one ounce of Scottish in her, half Liverpudlian and half Barbadian, Zoë has lived in more places that she can even remember. From the Gulf, to Africa to the US she's travelled so much she feels her next flight anywhere will be her last – morbid, she knows, but it's how she feels. Slightly partial to feet (yes, feet, those {sometimes} minging things at the bottom of our calfs) and a degree in Podiatry she bizarrely ended up in the Design Studio over 8 years ago. Zoë has worked on various projects for GW, responsible for Mattel award winning best miniatures, and an Origins nomination for the Balrog, from The Lord of The Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game for Sabertooth Games. Zoë has indeed been very busy!

Now stuck in the depths of the Black Library, gagging for air, Zoë manages Black Library's Merchandise range, Collector's Edition Books and The Femme Militant Miniatures for John Blanche along with the exciting new board games project.

For a large fee she would be happy to sort out anyone's feet – yuck!

MARC GASCOIGNE - HEAD OF BLACK INDUSTRIES
MarcMarc Gascoigne designed his first rpg waaaaaay back in 1976 after reading a brief review of D&D; in a wargames mag. Of course, as soon as he actually got his hands on an actual D&D; rulebook his own Three Kingdoms went straight in the bin, but it set him on a path that has led through the multi-award winning DragonLords fanzine, to co-designing the Judge Dredd rpg for Games Workshop, writing for Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Paranoia and Earthdawn, managing GW's boardgames line, and running the record-breaking Fighting Fantasy gamebook line for Penguin Books. One of the founders of GW's fiction wing the Black Library in 1997, he is now publisher and general manager of the whole of BL Publishing. Yes, all of it. He's married with two small nippers and lives in Nottingham, and his hobbies include lying down and putting his fingers in his ears.
