ARM Powered Pandora Waits In Wings

The ARM powered Pandora, comprising of an ultra mobile personal computer and a portable gaming console, is set to makes its debut this month.

The Pandora was designed based on the input of thousands of forum users with one goal in mind - to make the ultimate open source handheld device. Pandora’s developers are also actively encouraging customers to add, change and modify the device through the Pandora forum.

The Pandora clamshell design houses an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU running Linux and features OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware. It also includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, dual SDHC slots and a TV Output. The device will come with dual analog and digital gaming controls as well as a QWERTY keyboard. The4.3" widescreen LCD boasts a 800x480 resolution with 16.7 million colors.

Retail pricing is expected to be around £199/$330 USD/ €212.
