Veteran's Story: My only son just joined the navy in Nov. 98. He graduatedbootcamp which our family went to see him there. Then he went to texas for his school. He was home for 2 weeks in April 99 then we took him to the airport where he was headed for NAS Oceana, Va. We spoke to him several times and everything was fine! He just bought himself a tv and was asking how to get his cable hooked up, which he did. He bought a phone, a alarm clock radio, a sony playstation, and so on. Then i get a phone call that he is found hanging in a hotel room in Las Vegas!! The police and the navy would not do a damn thing to investigate, they called it a suicide even though there is evidence to prove otherwise! In fact, one of the boys who came to his funeral from the base and told our family that he did not believe that our son was traveling by himself or taking money out by himself is of course no where to be found!! Although I'm sure some of these poor souls committed suicide for whatever reason there are alot!! of young men whose families where told by the military it was suicide and there is evidence to prove murder!! I think we should have a wall called casulties of peace for all of the young men and women who proudly served and their questionable deaths where never justified!!sincerely,Sonya KillianMother of Stephen J.
