Player Programs Coordinator position
An exciting opportunity exists to join Tennis Victoria in one of the most exciting areas of tennis. Reporting to the Executive Manager of Tennis Operations, the primary objectives of this part-time position is to plan and implement programs that link our Talent Development programs into our National Academy and facilitate the continued development of tennis players aged 12 and over across the state. A passion for sport is a given, sound knowledge of tennis with a coaching qualification would be beneficial. 2008 STATE GRADE - FINAL The Mens and Womens finals were held at Grace Park Lawn TC on Sunday 17th August, 2008. The Mens Grade was won by Grace Park LTC 3-7-50 defeating Kooyong Lawn No 2 1-3-37. The Womens Grade was won by Kooyong Lawn TC 3-8-57 defeating Royal South Yarra LTC 1-3-31. Congratulations to both teams on great matches and also to Grace Park LTC for providing an excellent venue for the day. |

Working With Children Check
Tennis Victoria has developed a tennis specific policy for clubs to use as a best practice guide in implementing the Working With Children Check (WWC Check). In addition, a record keeping template has also been developed to assist in ensuring the relevant personnel have been checked. The template can be found here. The Department of Justice are also conducting workshops around the state on the implementation of the legislation. Boost For Tennis in $2.4 million Drought Relief Package
More than 1,700 clay tennis courts across metropolitan Melbourne will be drought-proofed as part of the Brumby Government's $2.4 million first round of the Drought Relief for Community Sport Program, the Minister for Sport and Recreation, James Merlino, announced today. Water Conservation Plan Information Sessions
Tennis Victoria and the metropolitan water retailers (Yarra Valley Water, City West Water, South East Water and Western Water) have been working together to develop a solution that increases water savings and provides greater flexibility in the use of tennis courts. We are pleased to advise that a new alternative Water Conservation Plan for tennis clubs with red porous courts has been developed and approved in consultation with the metropolitan water retailers. If your club undertakes specific actions to treat court with a water saving product, your club could reopen ALL red porous courts under the new Water Conservation Plan.
