TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 1, 2008) - Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN) is pleased to announce the one-time only live presentation of the highly anticipated The Secret Policeman's Ball live via satellite from The Royal Albert Hall in London, England, on Saturday October 4th exclusively at select Cineplex Entertainment theatres throughout Canada.

John Cleese, of Monty Python fame, kick-started Amnesty International's first ever comedy fundraiser in 1976. Over the years these gala events became known as The Secret Policeman's Ball. This year's ball will feature leading comedy talent from both sides of the Atlantic performing cutting-edge comedy including Canada's very own Russell Peters as well as Graham Norton, Frank Skinner, Tim Minchin, Shappi Khorsandi and many others.
