Which brand of paper towel holds the most water and weight when wet?

The brand with the thickest feeling sheets will hold the most water and weight when wet.

First test: cut paper towels all to the same size (6" x 11"). Put the same amount of water into plastic bowls and put a sheet of paper towel in the water. When the sheet took up as much as it could, take the sheet out and let it drip until it does not drip any more and weigh it on a gram scale. Record the data.

Second test: cut paper towels all to the same size (6" x 11"). Put the same amount of water in the five bowls and soak each seet. Take the sheet out and let it drip until it does not drip any more. Put the sheet on top of the larger bowl and put six clothes pins on the rim of the bowl. Start putting washers around the sheet until the sheet rips. Count the washers and weigh them. Record the data.

My hypothesis that the thickest feeling sheet will hold the most water was correct. Viva held the most water out of all the paper towels. But on average Scott paper towels held twelve times its weight in water while Viva only held nine times its weight in water.

The part that said that the thickest would hold the most weight when wet was incorrect. Viva did not hold the most weight. Bounty held the most weight when wet because Bounty held fifty-six washers and Viva held only forty-two washers.

The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds. And God saw it was good (Genesis 1:12). This verse goes with my project because it means that each tree makes its own seeds to reproduce their species. They keep growing and reproducing even today so we can use them to make our paper products.
