What brand of alkaline batteries will last the longest? Hypothesis:Duracell will probably last the longest because a lot of people choose that brand. Procedure:First make a container to hold a AA-size electric cell. Second solder a short piece of wire to the end of a 15-ohm resistor. Third solder the other end of the wire to a spring that is small on one end and bigger on the other end. Fourth put the spring on the positive end and the free end of the resistor at the bottom of the electric cell. Place the electric cell in the container. Then do the same with all the other electric cells. Divide them from each other. It is good to test at least two electric cells from each brand. Conclusion:I was right about my hypothesis that Duracell would be a better brand. I learned that Duracell is a good brand of battery. After Duracell comes Energizer and then Rayovac. The Generic brand almost tied with Rayovac but came in last. One unanswered question is why do the voltages stay nearly equal throughout the test until the cells are almost dead?
