As the fall sports season draws to an end, four new teams hope to improve upon their previous season’s record and hopefully make it to the state championships. The winter sports teams are Boys Basketball, Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, and Girls Soccer. The seasons are all officially starting on October 27, 2008.

Senior Adam Ichikawa has been the MVP of the Mountain View High School golf team for the past three years of his high school career and was also a six time medalist during the 2006 high school season.

Hearts race as the two adrenaline pumped fighters enter the arena. The crowd is raging and the fighters entry music is playing. The fighters see the giant octagon with its six foot high cage and chain link fence where their battle is about to begin. The excitement and their own nerves envelope them. They know that they are about to go to war and a one punch KO of their opponent is all they can hope for. This is the life of a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.

Nothing screams football season like the huge posters plastered onto the walls of our campus proclaiming “Go get ‘em Varsity!” or “Go JV!” with the names and numbers of our football players here at MVHS. It’s great to see such enthusiastic support for football, but where is our school support for girl’s tennis, water polo, or cross country—all of which coincide with football during the fall sports season. Where are their motivational posters?

Monday Night Football takes on a new meaning when the teams are completely hypothetical. The Internet has given sports fanatics something more to look forward to than the average game; they can create and manage their own “fantasy sports teams” by recruiting real-life players to play on their fantasy team against other teams in their league.

After years of creating memories inside their stadiums and connecting with other fans for the love of the games, the stadiums that once belonged to the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland A’s will be relocated to different parts of the Bay Area. As residents of this area, most people within our community are fans of at least one of the teams above, yet what do fans feel about the teams moving stadiums?
