“It kind of sucked me in,” Junior Marian Berthoud said, describing her decision to begin helping MVHS Athletic Trainer Brien Arakaki. Both she and fellow classmate Junior Kacy Clark regularly help Arakaki out after school staying as late as 6: 30 or even until midnight after football games.

The school has closed the MVHS swimming pool at the end of November following an inspection that declared the pool to be unusable until the pool coping, currently deemed unsafe, is replaced. Although the district has no current plans to construct a new pool, members of the swim and water polo teams are pushing for this investment.
