March may be cold, but it's hot and heavy here at OnMilwaukee.com as we celebrate our first-ever Sex Week. We're taking a mature look at local video and sex toy shops, area strip clubs, sexy Milwaukee events -- and even some connections between Brew City and Playboy magazine. It's serious, responsible, adult-themed content -- but don't worry, parents, we'll keep it PG-13 in case junior stumbles upon these stories as OnMilwaukee.com turns a pale shade of blue for seven days.

Charlie Laine started her life as an insecure, small town girl from Marion, northwest of Green Bay, with "short hair and fuzzy eyebrows." She dropped out of high school at 17, and at 18, started working in the porn industry.

Today, Laine is 25 and lives in Green Bay and Los Angeles. Recently, she was hired as the host of the Pay Per View / In Demand series "Too Much For TV." She also poses for Penthouse, and was named the Penthouse Pet of the Month for February 2006.

In 2006, Laine got naked on "The Howard Stern Show" and reappeared on the show in November to compete in the World's Strongest Naked Women's Contest. In 2009, Laine was nominated for an Adult Video News (AVN) Award for the Best All-Girl Three-Way Sex Scene.

Her Web site, Club Charlie, attracts thousands of viewers every month and features her photos, videos and a tell-all, online diary. Laine has appeared in many adult films, including "Lust In The City" with fellow Wisconsin-based porn star Melissa Jacobs.

OnMilwaukee.com tracked down the busy model and actress to chat about life in the adult entertainment industry.

OnMilwaukee.com: What exactly do you do as the host of "Too Much For TV?"

Charlie Laine: Basically, I interview people on the street about sex, then I coax them to come back to the studio and explore. I've shot three episodes and I am going to shoot three more.

OMC: When did you start your career in the porn industry?

CL: I started working in November of 2002 at the bright and early age of 18.

OMC: How did you get started?

CL: I moved to Florida and did some modeling there, then I moved back to Wisconsin and posted a profile on a modeling site. An agent contacted me right away and offered me magazine work with Hustler, Penthouse and Cherry. So I went to L.A. to try it, and I loved it.

OMC: You only work with women, right?

CL: Yes. I do girl / girl photo shoots and video. Getting paid to sleep with beautiful women is a pleasure. I also do a lot of fetish –- as long as I'm comfortable with it -- like bondage, feet-in-stocking, wrestling.

OMC: What aren't you comfortable with?

CL: I'm really not comfortable with boy / girl. I realized a while ago that I have to do what makes me happy. Even in this industry, you can't do something just for the money. And if you follow that rule, you're OK.

OMC: Are you a lesbian? Bisexual?

CL: I learned at a young age that I am bisexual. I admit I take relationships with men more seriously, though.

OMC: Do you have a boyfriend?

CL: Yes. Every guy I date has to keep the personal far from the professional. I've had three serious boyfriends who have been very supportive. I've never been with someone who said my job wasn't OK.

I set myself up for the right relationships, because I have been doing this for so long, and the bottom line is you're not going to date me unless you're comfortable with millions of people seeing me naked on the Internet.

OMC: Do boy / girl shoots generally pay more?

CL: Yes. I know girls that make $20,000 a month, but they're willing to do boy / girl shoots every day, and I'm not ready for that.

OMC: What's the most challenging aspect of your job?

CL: Sometimes I don't feel like waking up at 6 a.m. to go masturbate. Why do people shoot porn at 8 a.m.? I spend an hour in L.A. traffic just to masturbate for an hour and then go home again.

OMC: Is there real intimacy on the set between you and the other girls?

CL: What you see me do on camera is real, but at the same time, it's also a performance. I used to pretend the camera wasn't there, but then I realized I have to let the viewer in, and for me to be at my best, I need to feed off the energy of getting the viewer off. I look at it like I'm having a three-way with my partner and whoever else is watching.

OMC: How do you prepare for a sex scene?

CL: Oh, we warm up. We make out first -- we don't go straight into the action. Without foreplay, in front of cameras or not, you can have bad sex. And bad sex is bad sex. No one wants to do it or watch it. So we make sure we're ready to go.

OMC: Who are your favorite women to work with?

CL: Renee Perez, Celeste Star, Jenna Haze. I would do it for free with them.

OMC: What's the kinkiest thing you've done in front of a camera?

CL: I posed for a ... fetish site for people who are into shocking, as in electrical shocking. I really didn't understand it at first, but some other girls said it wasn't that bad, so I took the job. But it was pretty weird. I was naked, tied up and standing on my tippy toes while wearing high heels. If I put my feet down and stopped standing on my tippy toes, a female dominatrix would shock (me) with this "shock wand." Hey, I tried it. I'm not going to do it again.

OMC: What are your goals?

CL: To ride this out as long as I can. I don't want to be a 35-year-old in the industry, so I'll eventually find a plan B. I will probably have a family and go to school. I'm pursuing a high school equivalency and I want to continue on with my education for the rest of my life.

OMC: Did your career path surprise your childhood neighbors and friends?

CL: If you talk to people from high school, it was definitely a shock. I was kind of a dork. I was a cheerleader, but at my school, the cheerleaders weren't very popular. I had really short hair and fuzzy eyebrows. I really wasn't very cute, but I morphed into something better. I didn't have the best self-esteem back then, but being on camera now helps. I'm a lot more confident.

OMC: Are you making a lot of money?

CL: I'm making enough to support myself and live a happy life in Los Angeles and Wisconsin. Los Angeles is a very expensive city, but I'm comfortable. This is pretty good for a high school dropout.

OMC: Is your family supportive of your career?

CL: They are very supportive. They've seen how long I've been doing this and that it makes me happy. I have traveled to 49 of the states and out of the country. I am following my dreams. I get to do everything I always wanted to do. I'm just doing it all while I'm naked.

A very disappointing week....I would think you could find something better to write about. It's all pretty sad.

I love how today's top story is stuff to do with your kids/family and underneath are columns about porn stars and STDs.

I was an insecure, small town boy. I guess I should have done better in school. I could have gone places!

She may be a small town girl but you can tell she has sold out to Hollywood. I get up at 6:00 to masturbate for free and she complains about getting paid for it? She's a sell out I tell you. Somebody please tell me that OMC got started early on its April Fools Day articles.
