Hypothesis
We think that the sunflower seeds will grow taller in dirt.

Purpose

Our purpose is to see if sunflower seeds grow taller in dirt, sand, or water.
Materials

  • Glass Cups
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Dirt
  • Sand
  • Water
Procedure

We planted the plants on February 7, 1998 and watered them every day for four weeks at 3:00.  When we watered them we turned the plants so each side got the same amount of sunlight.

Results
Only one grew and that is the water one.  The dirt and the sand failed to grow. Our hypothesis was incorrect.  The water plant grew 1/2 and inch every week.
Conclusion

We think this happened because the dirt one didn't get enough water, and the sand one didnít get enough sunlight.
