Apprenticeship Awareness Month Printer Friendly
WHEREAS, this year is the 70th anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act of 1937 establishing the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
WHEREAS, Alaska has enjoyed the benefits of a skilled work force, and a leadership with the fore thought to include apprenticeship training as the model to convey their skill and knowledge to the next generation, which has provided our state with highly trained and efficient workers.
WHEREAS, with the many trade and employer organizations, and with the assistance of the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, these opportunities will last well into the future.
WHEREAS, with the partnerships of Alaska’s labor, education, and private business communities, Alaskans will enjoy new opportunities in high growth jobs, not only to include traditional construction and skill trade jobs they also include professional jobs in health care, business, and management.
WHEREAS, apprenticeship is the key to training Alaskans for Alaskan jobs. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sarah Palin, Governor of the State of Alaska, do hereby proclaim November 2007 as:
Apprenticeship Awareness Month
in Alaska, and encourage all Alaskans to recognize this effort on behalf of apprenticeship training and look to those that are actively seeking a better future through apprenticeship.
