Exiled Uighur leader denies stirring unrest

As unrest sweeps the ethnic Uighurs of Xinjiang province, China has accused Rebiya Kadeer, an exiled community leader, of calling for an uprising. The 62-year-old spent six years in prison in China before being deported in 2005 to the US, where she heads the World Uighur Congress.

In an interview to Al Jazeera, Kedeer, who calls herself the "daughter of the Uighur people", rejected the accusation that she was responsible for the violence.
