June 13, 2005: Nairobi - A Kenyan clergyman has taken the war against homosexuality to the doorsteps of Americans.

PCEA moderator Rev David Githii is warning Americans practicing homosexuality that they are "doomed for hell". Reportedly, the US has the most self-confessed homosexuals and lesbians in the world.

A press statement from the church's head office says Githii, who is on a visit to America, issued the warning to the citizens. He warned that just as God refused to spare Sodom and Gomorrah from fire, He would also not spare homosexuals and those defending the act.

Githii urged the Presbyterian Church in the US to uphold Biblical teachings, saying they were inspired by God. "I also challenge you to stand against those teaching that the Bible is just a collection of stories," says the statement attributed to Githii.

He urged US citizens to convince the G-8 to write off debts owed by Kenya and other poor countries. The Anglican Church has also threatened to cut ties with the parent church overseas following the ordination of self-confessed gay bishops and solemnisation of gay marriages.
