Forgive Me

Last Updated: April 21, 2006

Page: 1

Would you forgive me for letting you go,

Would you accept my tears of regret,

And feel my pain of realization,

That I used you then put you aside?

Time has taught me to be patient,

To see my intentions before I act,

To search my heart before I speak,

To know love when I feel it.

Our tender moments in the gutter,

Our sweet words lose their meaning,

My kisses seem heartless and mean,

And I am sorry I hurt you.

You gave up everything for me,

You changed your beliefs because of me,

You trusted me with your life,

And in my ignorance I let you down.

You told me once that I used you,

And I refused to believe I could be so cruel,

But the truth is that I did,

And nothing will ever change that.

I know that this is hard,

That you can no longer believe me,

That you are angry and sad,

That you have lost your faith,

And nothing I do will help you.

You told me once that I am selfish,

And maybe that is why I write this,

But please believe me when I say,

I never meant to ruin your life,

That I mistook obsession for love,

And I am sorry I hurt you.
