About Us

Our experienced staff is always here for you.

Families Trust Our Tradition of Service.

How do you create a family tradition? It takes time. Over a century, in fact. It takes being a family-owned business, where values are passed from one generation to the next. At Langeland-Sterenberg & Yntema Funeral Homes, our family tradition of service has been evolving for over 100 years.

Often, it’s possible to judge a business by what it is not. We are not part of a chain. We are not a single location among hundreds in a conglomerate. We have no obligation to any out-of-state “main office.” Families who are suddenly faced with planning a funeral appreciate our assurance that our only obligation is to you, and we will attend to your needs at any hour of the day or night.

Our Families Serving Yours.

Choosing a funeral home is not something families do every day. But when the need arises, and a decision must be made, families are reassured by our reputation as a member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, and our adherence to the
Code of Good Funeral Practice. Over the years, families have also been comforted by our affiliation with the International Order of the Golden Rule and the Trust 100 Network. These organizations are composed only of family-owned, independent funeral homes, with deep connections to their respective communities.

When families experience the loss of a loved one, the most important quality they desire in funeral service is completely personal attention.
John Sterenberg, Paul C. Sterenberg, Mike Langeland and Steve Langeland are committed to providing services founded on compassion, dignity, and the most profound attention to your needs and wishes.

Our Mission…to Help in Times of Sorrow.

The funeral is a time to celebrate a life lived and to say farewell to a loved one; it is also a time to begin the process of healing. During the 100-year history of our company, families have found comfort in our dedication to assisting with all aspects of the funeral service. It is our mission to provide a personal, meaningful, and healing funeral or memorial experience for every family…to be innovative, progressive, and proactive in designing a tribute to a life lived…and to accomplish this within the framework of your faith, traditions, and customs.

Then, there is the matter of trust. In a time when emotions are strongly felt, there is comfort in being treated with compassion and respect. This is our commitment to you.
