Robert H. Knight
Director of the Culture and Family Institute

Robert H. Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute (CFI), an affiliate of Concerned Women for America, examines cutting-edge social issues. A former Los Angeles Times news editor and writer, and former Media Fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, Knight frequently appears on network television and radio programs, and is published and quoted in major newspapers and magazines. Of special interest are government arts funding, family issues, media, sex-related topics, including the homosexual agenda, television, film, and religious freedom. Mr. Knight wrote and directed CWA's video, Hidden Truth: What You Deserve to Know about Abortion; the Family Research Council documentary about Alfred Kinsey, The Children of Table 34, as well as Hope & Healing, a video about recovery from homosexuality. A draftsman of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, he has also written monographs on same-sex "marriage," television sex and violence, government sponsorship of the arts and broadcasting, and other topics. He is the author of The Age of Consent: The Rise of Relativism and the Corruption of Popular Culture (Spence Publishing, 1998, 2000), a Conservative Book Club Main Selection.

Culture Analyst:
Before joining CFI, Mr. Knight was senior director of Cultural Studies at the Family Research Council for nearly 10 years. Prior to that, Mr. Knight was Senior Fellow for Cultural Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation. He frequently debates on college campuses, including appearances at UC Berkeley, Cornell, Kent State, North Carolina State, Liberty University, University of Central Oklahoma, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and others.

Expert Witness:
Mr. Knight testified before the U.S. Senate's Labor and Human Resources Committee as well as the Presidential Commission on the Assignment of Women in the Armed Services. He also testified before the House Committee on Governmental Affairs regarding the Family Privacy Protection Act, a House Appropriations subcommittee concerning the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a CPB public hearing in Washington, and before several state legislatures.

Journalist:
Mr. Knight, who was a journalist for 15 years, worked for the Fort Lauderdale News/Sun Sentinel as a weekend projects coordinator and copy editor; with the Maryland Gazette as assistant editor and the Annapolis Evening Capital as a reporter; and as a reporter and editor of the Maryland Coast Press. At the Los Angeles Times, Mr. Knight was a news editor and writer for seven years before leaving for a Media Fellowship at the Hoover Institution.
