During the days of the RNC many 9/11 Truth activists will be visiting New York from around the country. From Aug. 27 to Sept. 2, 2004 most of the events will be held at the Brecht Forum in Manhattan. There will be parties at the Brecht on most nights and receptions after the major demonstrations.

Says NOW: "The National Organization for Women, NYC Chapter, is holding a mass demonstration, to the backdrop of the RNC, to show the world New York’s reaction to the Bush Administration's failures and deceptions around 9/11 and its aftermath."

Among the speakers will be Sibel Edmonds, the courageous translator fired by the FBI after revealing evidence that the United States government had received and suppressed specific advance warnings of the Sept. 11th attacks. Why did the 9/11 Commission report completely ignore her testimony?

The 9/11 Citizens' Commission will empanel a group of respected citizens to hear evidence and testimony from whistleblowers and other experts who identify omissions to the government's 9/11 Commission Report - and who challenge its key assumptions, timelines and conclusions. Live presentations will be subject to cross-examination by the citizen-commissioners, and to questions and answers from the audience. Doors open to the public 12:30 PM. The many actions  in August and September caused an explosion in the active membership of NY 9/11 Truth and inspired many people to start up their own initiatives in New York City and beyond.

THE 9/11 OMISSIONS HEARINGS before the 9/11 Citizens' Commission chaired by Cynthia McKinney on Sept. 9, 2004 were a truly historic occasion, with many important whistleblowers, critical research, and honest patriots stepping forward. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution turned a new page and filed a positive report. (Their report of 100 people in attendance reflects the morning press conference, not the hearings or the premiere that evening of THE GREAT CONSPIRACY, by which time about 600 people were present.) 

The giant CONFRONTING THE EVIDENCE program of 9/11/04 was not just a breakthrough for the audience and the movement; it also inspired a veritable Rashomon of conflicting stories about the happenings behind the scenes. Now you can read the original script for the 9/11/04 event, with annotations explaining the various last-minute changes to the program. If you missed it, this is the next best thing.  

Since the editor of this site has been the subject of rumors coursing around the Internet, he also offers his perspective as the co-scriptwriter on "Confronting the Evidence: What Really Happened."

Unfortunately, while all this activity is often fun, it's not a game. The present administration, its supporters and allies in both major parties and the media have practically promised that a new major terror attack is coming soon. These vague warnings generate hysteria and are reckless and irresponsible, at best. The powers-that-be have shamelessly exploited 9/11 for political gain and as the pretext for serial war, trampled our natural rights and liberties, and devised even worse plans for what to do after "the next attack." 

  

For the 3,000 who died, for the thousands poisoned by the Ground Zero dust cloud and who still having trouble breathing, for the millions now forced to breathe depleted uranium from the continued bombing of Iraq - for you, for New York, for all who value freedom, for all who want their children to grow up in a true democracy - we must expose the 9/11 fraud and end its exploitation by the ruling elites. 

Be prepared to fight for truth, justice and a future as human beings, not tools. May we stay strong as we navigate a way out of the wilderness and take up the fight at the gates of society's mental citadel, challenging the most important power the very few have over the multitude: the power to define how we see reality.

Street visiblity is one of the most important things we do! NY 9/11 Truth started 2004 with a handful of people freezing in a Vigil for Truth at Ground Zero, handing out literature and spreading the meme to tourists and Century 21 shoppers. The reactions were amazing - positive and negative - but by the summer, the positives gained the upper hand, and we developed the weird idea that half of New York no longer believes in the Official Conspiracy Theory of 9/11. And then the Zogby poll showed we were right - half of New York doesn't believe the official story!

More recently, the Vigil for Truth has been held simultaneously at two or more locations. We've gone to Union Square and Midtown. In coming months, we're going to venture out to all five boroughs, and yes, New Jersey.

WHY DOES IT MATTER? A recent Zogby poll reports half of New York City residents believe U.S. leaders had foreknowledge of the impending 9/11 attacks and "consciously failed" to act; 66% call for new probe of unanswered questions by Congress or New York's attorney general. The poll is the first conducted in America that surveys attitudes regarding US government complicity in the 9/11 tragedy. Despite the acute legal and political implications of this accusation, nearly 30% of registered Republicans and over 38% of those who described themselves as "very conservative" supported the claim. 

Is it any wonder people think that, when a whistleblower like former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds tells the public that the Bureau knew about the 9/11 plot in April 2001 and Aschcroft's reaction is to "retroactively classify" her statements?

NY 9/11 Truth supports the ongoing "Justice for 9/11" Petition and Complaint to New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, which cites probable cause for still-unsolved crimes around the events of September 11. Fifteen electred representatives in the NY State Assembly and Senate, New York City Council and House of Representatives have expressed support for re-opening the 9/11 investigation. 

Given the full-spectrum exploitation of 9/11 as the justification for foreign wars and domestic repressions, all issues of peace, justice and human progress are involved in this crime against humanity. This is just as true after the election. Whether the winner was Bush or actually the vote-counting machines, the result guarantees that 9/11 will still be advanced as the justification for our nation's self-destructive policies.

This is a must-date for those who understand that truth in government is the indispensable basis for a progressive agenda, and who want to see a massive November rally and concert to support the coming citizens' complaint for a new criminal investigation.
