Namu

Namu, Marshall Islands

Namu is situated midway along the Ratak chain of atolls, lying 62 km south-southeast from Kwajalein and 45 km northwest from Ailinglaplap (partially visible on the right-side of the above image). The small island of Lib can be found 65 km to the west-northwest.

Orientated northwest-southwest, the atoll has a maximum length of 60 km; width vary from 11 km in the south, to 4 km in the centre and up to 21 km in the north. Its 51 islets cover an area of 6.3 km².
