A small atoll of the Ralik chain of atolls, Lae (shown here in false-colour) is located 47 km east from Ujae and 74 km west from the easternmost extremity of Kwajalein.
The atoll consists of 17 islets (main islets include Lae, Ribon, Lejab and Enerein) with a total land area of 1.5 km². They enclose a small lagoon of 17.7 km² with a single opening on the western side.
