Title should have an upside down question mark at the start of it.

dark ambient

Steve Pittis is a master of dark cinematic ambience. This, his fifth offering, is well up to the usual standard, with broad sweeps of gloomy drones set upon a muttering bed of noise and disconcerting vocals (in the case of one track these being a recitation of the thoughts of Arthur Shawcross - not that I could make them out very clearly). The first four tracks here put me in mind of Daniel Menche's "Field of Skin": all edgy menace and uneasy intensity. The long last track, 'Panic In Mathraki', builds on this feeling, becoming the soundtrack to some unseen horror flick, complete with spooky howling noises, bangs and crashes in the background, swirling strings like encircling fog. The gruesome cover art of skeletal images is typically Cold Spring, bit it fits this disc. Music to stumble over corpses by, creepy, hah!
