AVIC INTERNATIONAL Delivers Two New MA-60 Aircrafts to Cameroon

(Correspondent: FeiBinsong; Photography: Zhu Bo) On April 7, local time Cameroon, AVIC INTERNATIONAL handed over two new MA-60 aircrafts produced in China to the government of Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. Among the officials that attended the delivery ceremony of the aircraft included, Robert Nkili, the Cameroon Minister of Transport, IssaTchiromaBakary, Minister of Communications, H. E. Wei Wenhua, Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, and President of AVIC INTERNATIONAL, Lai Weixuan, etc.  

This event is a follow-up on the significant delivery of the first MA-60 aircraft made by AVIC INTERNATIONAL to Cameroon back in 2012. It also is the first time for AVIC INTERNAIONAL over the last few years to deliver two MA-60 aircrafts at the same time to a foreign country. This event came as a specific implementation of the initiation of Premier Li Keqiang’s strategy for “Regional Aviation Cooperation between China and Africa”.  

On that day, the Cameroon Minister of Transportation Robert Nkili personally presided over the delivery ceremony, while high government officials who included, the Minister of Communication, Central Regional Director and others, all took part in receiving the aircraft. 

Robert Nkili expressed that the cooperation between China and Cameroon is a model for Sino-African cooperation. Cooperation between China and Cameroon in the field of transportation have obtained innumerable achievements, among which the successful delivery of the two new MA-60   aircrafts will serve as a major boost to the air transport industry of Cameroon and even the national economic development of the whole country.   

The Chinese Ambassador stationed in Cameroon, H. E. Wei Wenhua, noted that the successful cooperation of the MA-60 aircraft project between China and Cameroon marks that the infrastructure construction for fields of cooperation between the two countries has expanded to the field of high technology, going from cooperation dealing with material on the ground to that of aviation cooperation.     

President of AVIC INTERNATIONAL, Lai Weixuan, in his address, said that AVIC INTERNATIONAL will continue to provide professional after-sales service support for the three MA-60 aircrafts which were delivered to Cameroon, guaranteeing the complete fine operations for the new MA-60 aircraft fleet, and establish a good image of Chinese produced civil aircraft in Cameroon and even the entire African region.     

After the completion of the ceremony, President Lai Weixuan held official talks with the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Philémon Yang. In their discussions, Mr. Philémon Yang mentioned that he has flown several times on the Chinese produced MA-60 airplanes and was very pleased with his experience. He noted that aviation technology and products made in China are very reliable, and promised that the Cameroon government is willing to take further steps to deepen and broaden their cooperation with the aviation industry of China.
