Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition included version
1.1.1 of the QuickTime Plug-in when it was released.
This updater will install version 2.01 of the QuickTime
plug-in for use with Internet Explorer 4.5.
The English-language version of
this updater is only for use on only US English copies
of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition
downloaded from Microsoft's web site before February 6,
1999. If you are using a non-English version of
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition,
please download the updater for your language.
Japanese Users:
DO NOT RUN NON-JAPANESE VERSIONS OF THIS UPDATER IF YOU
HAVE A JAPANESE LOCALIZED VERSION OF MICROSOFT INTERNET
EXPLORER 4.5 MACINTOSH EDITION ON YOUR MACHINE! It may
replace Japanese components of Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition with non-Japanese
versions if you do.
This updater does the
following:
- Updates the QuickTime
plug-in contained inside the Internet Explorer 4.5
Plug-ins folder from version 1.1.1 to 2.0.1 on
machines with QuickTime 3 installed. (Note: Mac OS
8.5 has QuickTime 3 installed.)
- Sets Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition to use the QuickTime
plug-in to view all files that the plug-in is
capable of viewing.
To run this
updater:
- Double click the updater's
icon. The updater will automatically find copies of
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition
that need to be updated.
- When the updater is
finished, launch your copy of Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition.
This updater will create a new
version of the drag and drop installer on your machine
containing the correct files. The next time you launch
Internet Explorer, the installer will run and update all
of the files necessary.
If you have no other
applications open when launching Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition after you run this
update, you will not have to restart your machine.
If you do not have any copies of
Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition that require
updating, the updater will automatically quit.
